Again it's just a BUTTON.

I HATE THAT I HAVE TO PUSH A (BUTTON) TO LET DOWN MY WINDOWS. But I can't push a start and stop button to turn it off.

I will spend 150 - $200 to bypass the start and stop and hopefully I don't void my warranty.

I HATE MY CELL PHONE BECAUSE I HAVE TO UNLOCK IT EVERY TIME I WANT TO USE IT. I needed to spend 150 - 200$ to bypass it.
I HATE I HAVE TO TURN ON THE LIGHTS IN THE HOUSE.

We have become so LAZY.
I totally agree!!

Just push the damn button...its a freakin' button.......just push it, how much easier could it be........

A little cranky we are today. Dang all this yelling. You need to move to CO or CA and take a hit of some Mary Jane to relax a bit.

Too each there own on the ESS. Some like it, some hate it, some will pay whatever to never think about it again. You could also say why don’t you remove your window buttons and order your Jeep with roll up windows. I bet you don’t use the “auto” headlight function either and turn your lights on and off every time you need them. It’s no different.

But then Larry Limpwrist, Susie Snowflake and Nancy Boy wouldn't have anything to whine about.
Read a post once that this guy completely took apart his wiring and was trying to figure out how to bypass the ESS.

I'm like, guy, theres a freakn' button right on your dash board?!!!!

Anyway, yes, you put it very well:cwl:

To be honest I do use the auto head light feature, I like ESS system I don't mind pushing a button that is inches away. Again each their own.
The fast food movement and I must have it my way no matter what the cost or outcome.
A button its just a button. LOL again threads like this or just funny. I hope we are laughing together

So if you're driving your vehicle one hour per day and idle for 10 minutes of that hour, thats about 2.5 gallons in a month. 150 Gallons over 5 years, 500/600 bucks of gas or so, depending on prices.
How long do you think will your starter last if it is constantly being fired up ? Starters normally last 150 - 200K and yes possibly even longer and with this ESS sytem driving in a city traffic you may be changing your starter every 50 K. I think most of people that know little about engine engineering do not like the ESS .

Don’t forget the fly wheel or flex plate. Thank goodness I have the 2.0l. Mine is a cheap belt.

I'm going to run a little math with you here.

My daily drive will have me going to work and back home. Along the way there are a few stop signs, and I know how to prevent an autostop if I'm not going to be stopped for long enough to make the auto stop worth it.
2 starts, plus 1 or 2 autostops IF the situation calls for it. Maximum 4 per day during the work week. So during the work week, assuming I take the Jeep every single day and never ride the motorcycle, will be 20 starts.
On my weekend, sometimes we go into town on Saturdays, so I'll give that another 4-5.
Driving to Church on Sunday Morning is when I have the best chance of using ESS. The Church is on the other side of town, where there are more traffic signals, and the red lights are much longer because of the heavier traffic. 6-10 starts.

So throughout any given week if I hit every single red light and autostop at every single stop sign that will be 35 Starts.
More than likely I won't have to auto stop at most of the stop signs and I catch green lights so the number will be around 15-18 for the week.
Without ESS that will be 12 starts.

So in reality I'm only using my starter about 20-25% more with ESS than without. I'd realistically still fall in that 150-200k mile range you stated. At my current rate of driving, at around 15,000 miles per year it will be around 10-13 years before I have to replace my starter.

I'm happy with those numbers.
