Why didn’t you get a TRX instead?
Great question.

I seriously considered it given the HP/TQ for the price. They were more or less the same price (maybe the TRX was cheaper, don't remember...it used to be cheaper)

1. My first American vehicle, had no idea about the build quality/ customer service on a 80K+ vehicle could be so poor.
2. Liked the SOT/ open top cruising concept (+1 Jeep)
3. TRX is based on a 2500 RAM, it's too big to be practical (for me)
4. I have absolutely no use for a pick-up with a box! I have rented pick-ups (when traveling just for the experience) and they do not work for me

All said, TRX was a much better value at the time. Now, it's over 100K MSRP!

JEEP (size/ footprint) is easier to live with (for us). My wifey can drive it (she drives it more often than me).

I like my Jeep, just not a fan of not being able to work on the high voltage related components myself or the fact that there's a small chance the battery could try to detonate randomly. Other than that it's been great. I'll definitely continue to own a JLUR, just not sure how long this one in particular is gonna stick around. I've got a winch and new inner fender liners waiting to get installed but I'm avoiding doing it currently until I figure out if this is gonna stay longer than the next 6 months.

Love the Jeep, hate the (blistering) paint. Our lowly Renegade is probably the best paint we've ever had on a vehicle (100k miles and still great shape), so I know Jeep can do it right, bummed they can't figure it out on the Wrangler. Otherwise everything is great on our 2020 Wrangler.

Seems like it's just one negative story after another, some jeeps have problems, it's very frustrating I get it! I'm certainly not rubbing it in to those who are. At this time, I'm not having any problems and I really & truly hope it stays that way. Right now, I'm just enjoying my Jeep. On road, off-road, after market accessories, it's a blast to drive around.

Is anyone else having good luck and enjoying their Jeep?
I am absolutely thrilled with mine, and wouldn't change much on it! I have a 2022 JL with an ecodiesel engine, and in a year and a half have put on 43,000 miles on it (70K kilometers for all you Canucks out there). Just put on a new set of tires (Falken Wildpeak AT3), and I am enjoying every minute of it.

Retired from Corrections....I have stories.
I love my Jeep, but at times hate Jeep. Like why would you glue a threaded puck to the inside of the frame instead of welding a nut in place. You go to remove the something, the puck's glue breaks from the Fram, you can't put a wrench on a puck. I end up having to cut the bolt off, then use a magnet to fish the puck and bolt out of the frame. Then weld a bolt on the frame.

Absolutely love mine.

It's got a few quirks, the gas mileage (even for my 4xe) is gawd awful, the windshield breaks like every 2 months, and the overall ownership experience is costing me a fortune.... but I'd do it all again in a heartbeat. Ain't nothing else like it.

What other kind of NEW vehicle can you buy that you can just slap a few bolt-on parts into and do things like my avatar picture there <----

I enjoy what I can do with my 2020 JLU Rubicon. 2ā€ lift, skids, and a winch makes this thing pretty awesome off-road. That said the problems get tiring. I had an antifreeze dump after the water pump bolts loosen, a fuel leak, electronic glitches, and now hinge corrosion has started. I potted my lockers preventatively and I diligently use high quality fuel because of potential problems with direct injection. I like my Jeep less and less as time passes as I think it’s a repair magnet. No vehicle is perfect but the JL seems highly prone to problems…disappointing.

With respect, Rob, consider the value of moving on.

I've been in the same position that you presently are. The absence of long-term peace of mind was distracting me to the point that I had to do something, so I opened up my wallet, pivoted and haven't looked back.

Already in the works. Just waiting on my broker to find a buyer so we can focus on finding its replacement. Problem is the market right now is a real basket case. ?ā€?

I’m in the same boat, opposite order of operation.

Already driving the replacement, Jeep’s on a pitch count. Will probably be rid of it within a year. Still drive it for kicks on weekends, but too many problems to be a keeper.

Would love to have a regular gas Wrangler again, but I’m going to hold off buying another FCA product for a little while.
