  1. Not sure what to believe

    Ahhhh makes sense.
  2. Not sure what to believe

Ahhhhhh that lines up, wow never thought of that. Thanks!
  3. JL corrosion repair - success story

I'm still not convinced the hinges are the problem, mainly because the corrosion is just as prevalent on door bottoms and hood edges. My completely uneducated internet keyboard warrior best guess is they used steel tooling before painting (drilling/bending etc) and left contamination under the...
  4. Not sure what to believe

Curious, I have a hardtop and am aware soft tops don't come with the electrical and fluid lines for the rear window, but what's different about the steering wheel stalk?
  5. Yet another aux battery delete thread question

So our 2020 JL starting giving the ESS Unavailable, Service ESS system error several months ago. The Jeep has 61k miles on it, both aux and main battery are original. I finally today got around to trying the aux delete via removing fuse 42 and pulling the negative to the aux battery (I picked...
  6. Used Wrangler From Canada

If by corporate you mean rental there is actually a loophole of sorts, if a car was originally sold in Canada as a rental fleet it can in fact be sold with warranty in tact in US. Build sheet will say something along the lines of CAN/AM warranty. Our 2020 had been a rental in Canada, we...
  7. Overall build quality seem lacking

We've had blistered paint repaired twice (different spots each time) and at 4 years and 61k miles the aux battery issue. Going to delete the aux and get a new main (both are currently original). Likely our last Jeep given what a cluster F the paint issue has been. We had plans to get a Grand...
  8. Service Start/Stop System

I'm getting the exact same warning (Service Start/Stop System), don't know about any codes as I don't have a tool for that. It's been like this since August after sitting for 3+ weeks getting the blistered paint on doors/hinges done. At 61k miles and both batteries original I'm sure that's the...
  9. ESS dashlight came on

Sorry dusting off this OLD post. Our 2020 was in for the bubbling hinge warranty work and sat parked for 3+ weeks, ever since then (August) we've had the Service ESS warning and the circle A light. The Jeep has 60k miles and the batteries are both original but the ESS error doesn't mention...
  10. Official Reveal: Jeep Concepts at 2024 Easter Jeep Safari EJS

Dig the simple throwback bumpers on the Dispatch, I would love those (if steel).
  11. Bought my dream Jeep…extremely fruatrated

*OP having quality concerns on new Jeep..... *bubbling/corroding paint on doors, hood, tailgate, and hinges has entered the chat.
  12. Poll: Bubbles in Paint??

I'm still not convinced it's the hinges, though they (Jeep) have redesigned the part. Many have the issue on hood edges and door bottoms no where near hinges. Also I believe the tailgate hinges are a different metal than door hinges due to weight of spare tire (but could be wrong in this). I...
  13. Best AT tires for all driving conditions

Last year we went with the Cooper Rugged Trek and are beyond happy, probably put 10-15k miles on them. A few weeks ago on our way to skiing we drove through a very rural area with yet to be plowed backroads (there was about 4 inches down so far at the time) and went up very steep roads and got...
  14. We want to hear from you!

This please, let's fix major issues before adding new options/ideas. A formal explanation on the root cause and steps taken to prevent new Jeeps (and address existing ones) would make a lot of us feel better if there's a handle on this.
  15. Jeep Resale. Not what it used to be.

All used prices are coming down. For example, I've been watching 4 Runner preowned ('20-'22s) and have seen decline of prices over the last 6 months or so...... I believe the market is correcting and the stubborn high prices for resale is hopefully getting more realistic.
  16. Does anyone like their Jeep?

Love the Jeep, hate the (blistering) paint. Our lowly Renegade is probably the best paint we've ever had on a vehicle (100k miles and still great shape), so I know Jeep can do it right, bummed they can't figure it out on the Wrangler. Otherwise everything is great on our 2020 Wrangler.
  17. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

I'm sure this won't make the problem any less frustrating (mine's been in twice for this), but if there's any saving grace. is that the doors, hood, and tailgate are aluminum (the reason why the paint is failing). Aluminum doesn't corrode and literally fall apart like steel does, it "heals" on...
  18. Canadian build Jeep in US questions

Dealership did everything. Honestly I have no idea what the process was called, after some back and forth with the service rep he came back and said, okay, the best way to move this forward is there's a 1 time conversion to move the CAN-AM warranty to regular, but once done can never be...
  19. Canadian build Jeep in US questions

I've had our Jeep in twice for the paint corrosion issue over the last 18+ months no issue. If you look up your build sheet does it show the CAN-AM warranty there? I would bring the Jeep to a Jeep dealer, not the Ford dealer you bought it from, they should have more experience in this, factory...
  20. Strange outside temp readings

Thanks all, wasn't too worried abut it, just never noticed it until recently, then randomly the wife brought it up this morning that she just noticed it so I figure it was a new phenomenon for our Jeeps, but who knows???
