I figured there must be a few other mountain bikers/cyclists on here since Jeeps are a great vehicle for outdoor enthusiasts. For those of you that are cyclists, have you made any modifications so that you can store your bike inside while driving? If so, do you have any tips/regrets/things to be aware of?

The photos below are two that I found on American Adventure Lab’s site when researching. My ideal setup would be to have my ARB on one slide out drawer and 1-2 fork mounts on another slide. My largest bike is pretty long (Spec Enduro, size LG), so I’m not quite sure yet if a drawer will be an option because the bike may have to go in diagonally.

I got a trunk cargo liner for skis and bikes. It’s easy to clean and keep the wear down on the carpet.

I have both thru axles and quick release so I’ll probably use some tie down straps to the handlebars (motox style).

I’ll be adding a fridge as well. My current is too big so I’ll probably go with something like an Iceco JP30.

That cargo liner is a great idea, thanks! I’ve been pondering how to deal with the amount of crud that gets brought in and the wear it causes.

I‘m not totally sure but I think my ARB is a 50qt. It’s a bit big for a lot of short trips. That JP30 looks like a nice size for short trips and summer use.

1ups are great racks. I’ve got one too and my only possible complaint is that I have to run a hitch dropper if I want to open the back tailgate with my current tires.

Picture above is what I ended up doing for internal storage. It’s not perfect either in that I have to move the passenger side seat a little bit forward from being all the way back to fit two bikes because of how long wheelbases have gotten on modern bikes. Not a huge problem but just not perfect. If its just one bike then I can just angle the back of the bike diagonally.
