I currently have one of each style. The older one is my choice all the way. Also, the cloth dashboard insert is retarded in a Jeep.

Pre '24 for me. I am not an advocate of putting anything in a vehicle that can further distract all the banana peeling chimps out there now. So the screen gets bigger...
The new soft material on the dash in front of passengers is just silly. Nice, bright and easy to dirty... in a Wrangler...

I don’t mind the pre 2024 or my JKU dash but I like the 2024 dash a lot after having it for past 15 months. Mine has been trouble free and I did add a screen protector. I use Apple CarPlay a lot so the wider screen is more convenient. I have a Sahara so the black leather dash on passenger side is way nicer than the sport’s fabric but there are covers for it out already. The round vents were easier to use though.

No experience with the pre-'24 models, but I really don't see the point of this large screen. Comfort display is redundant and not used. Only need so much space to display what MP3 song or radio station is playing. Phone is never connected and no built-in nav. I bought my Jeep not because of the screen, but because I want to take it off-road and the other pieces/parts are Jeep essentials.

24+ Rubicon dash because it doesn’t have the bright cloth. 23 and earlier for all other trims.

Pre-2024 dash. They could've done UConnect 5 on a bigger screen without getting rid of the round center vents and the Nintendo Switch look by simply eliminating the pointless rubber bezel to use as additional screen real estate.

Likewise, aftermarket radios for 2024+ are going to require a lot of new dash pieces.
Exactly, a quick measurement shows the then current one capable of a 10-10 1/2” screen maintaining the current screen and dash configuration, not a wide short one that required the mismatched, unbalanced other changes.

The new dash design was why I pulled the trigger on my 2024. I thought the old dash looked junky and I don’t like the round vents or the glossy dash material.

I have a '23 and I prefer the '24+ screens.

I prefer the '23 UI over the 24's.

I prefer the 2023 dash trim, but not in red on the Rubicons. It's a good offset for a black interior with Sting Gray exterior paint, but red is red.

Have you people never heard of Scotchguard????
It's just not a good material to have on the dashboard. Dirt, dirty hands.... It's the perfect place to put some ambient lighting behind a textured synthetic piece designed to look like an elevation/relief map, and Stellantis gave the world.... cloth.

The only reason I don't like the new dash is because the symmetry is messed up.

The phablet being "connected" to the instrument cluster with a bezel looks like an absolutely half assed attempt to make a "full" screen look 😅

Jeep should've dumped the round vents altogether across the entire dash if they were going to modify the layout for just 2 to be rectangular.

It looks like they were trying to appease two sets of would-be owners and ended up with a garbage look.

Like these things aren't already overpriced enough.

I personally think the pre dash looks outdated.

For all the lower trims, the 2024+ display is a massive improvement. For those of us that already had the 8" display, I think just growing it a little to like 10.5" while maintaining the integration with the round vents would be mora harmonious of a design.

Round side vents with rectangular center vents is typical of the Jeep/Stellantis corner cutting - tell the intern engineer to put in a larger screen with minimal changes and minimal investment and this is what you get.

Same thing as the 35" package. The intern reuses the massive pump stop from the diesel and 392 (which were there to prevent those huge engines - themselves a ludge engineering - from contacting the frame) - suspension uptravel be damned.

Everything on the JL post 2018 has been a kludge of engineering.
