How do you determine which model of differentials your JLU has? It doesn't indicate which you have on the window sticker. Mine just says Trac Lok differential rear axle.

Trac Lok is the rear 220 with LSD. 80-90 and friction additive. EDIT: unless you have the tow package. 75w-140 and additive.

I always use VALVOLINE 75W-140 SYNTHETIC for all my jeep differentials--

It was recommended for my '08 JKUR and that's what i use in my JL-

If you don’t add an FM with the Valvoline have you noticed any chattering?

Nope, I've used the 75w-140 for years and It's labelled LIMITED SLIP--

Works great, very quiet !
Good luck

So not wanting to spend $150 to replace differential fluid for both axles (need slightly 5.25pts, so need to buy 3qts to get the needed 2.625pts), what SAE 75W85 API GL-5 Gear and Axle Oil/Lubricant is good?

I was looking at the Red Line 50105 75W85 GL-5 Gear Oil, $60 for 1gal, but the label states it is for hypoid limited slip diffs, and my Sport has open diffs.

Will that work or is there an alternative I should use?

Here is the list of fluids from my dealership's part department, provided to me when I gave them my VIN.
Jeep Wrangler JL Differential Fluid 1614618629765

The Mopar stuff is over $50/qt. Even online after shipping 3qts is about $120. I am ok with $60-70 per gal for alternative stuff, the concern is the "for hypoid limited slip differentials" on the Red Line bottle, which on their website expands to "Contains additional friction modifiers for suitability with clutch-type limited slip differentials - for most LSDs, no additional friction modifiers are required " My JT has open diffs, don't need the friction modifier, I am concerned this one having the friction addative would harm something.
