I use Wool Wax and bought the kit with a spray gun and several wands. Use both the original yellowish and the black. The only advantage of the black that I know of is for looks, and I just use black on places that you can easily see like the outside frame and axles. The rest gets the original, which also doesn't leave black stains on you when working on it.
Spend more time getting inside the frame and body panels than anything else. From my experience rust always starts from the inside out, where you don't see it. I spray everything but the brakes but don't go crazy on how much. Just needs a light coating and doesn't need to be dripping off the body to work.

How is everyone applying it? Do you use the spray cans? If you buy bulk, what equipment is needed?

I ordered the kit from Woolwaxusa to use with compressor for about $150.... spray can, 2 extension wands wands and 4 bottles of woolwax.... I used 2 bottles on the first application last year and pretty much had setup like shown in this video minus the lift.... I have a small work space so the prep to keep the mess to a minimum took the most time

IMO, Fluid Film is great for use inside the frame, but it is just too messy for external surfaces.

For external surfaces I use CRC Heavy Duty Corrosion Inhibitor. It sprays nicely and penetrates seams before drying to a waxy finish. The great thing is that is doesn't come off when you touch it, so maintenance is much cleaner/easier. https://www.crcindustries.com/heavy-duty-corrosion-inhibitor-10-wt-oz/

Another option for the inside of the frame is 3M Cavity Wax. I used this on my JT: https://multimedia.3m.com/mws/media/1279746O/cavity-wax-plus-flyer.pdf

How often do you re-apply the fluid film on your vehicles?

I apply it once every fall, usually takes 2 bottles/qts for each application on a 2dr

After FF application, would you avoid under body flush in car wash?
I would for at least 2 weeks.... I usually dont wash underneath during winter months regardless, let the FF do its thing

Everything but rotors and exhaust. Gonna smell a day or two. The black version just blends in better

I keep a couple of aerosol cans from Lowes in the shop. Spray it in every nook and cranny I can from time to time. Spray it up under the tail lights and even pull them and squirt it in the fender. Try not to get wiring harnesses and connectors. It might be hitting aluminum but anything helps. They don't have the black stuff at Lowes. 3 New England winters and no regrets.

I would unless I was out driving on salty roads. After the trail I usually hit the power washer to hose off any mud on the undercarriage. I'm guessing that will have a tendency to wear off the FF. That's OK I'll re-apply, I think it's worth it.

i use CRC 1-2 times a year. three spray cans. sometimes i’ll do inside of frame with FF as it has a flexible wand and CRC doesn’t (that i’m aware of). you can also pull plugs from bottom of doors and give a squirt however doors aren’t going to rust anyway. VERY satisfied with these two products. one of those things you just do and are glad you did.
