I walked into the dealership last Friday and basically told the manager that I'm not leaving until I get the name of the shop. He made a few phone calls and had one of his salesmen text me the name, Dixie Auto Air in Houston. After a quick Google search, I found the shop and called them to see what they had to say. The mechanic told me that they didn't have the vehicle in the shop until May 28th or so, and he doesn't know how long it was outside. He apologized and told me that he's just waiting on one part because it's the first time the shop has worked on a JL, so they weren't sure what to order.
Somebody from Jeep Cares contacted me yesterday for more information on the case and I explained everything to her. She said that she meant to call me sooner but the dealership hasn't returned her calls in over a week. Typical...
I called the shop again last Tuesday for an update and the same mechanic told me that it's going to be a few more days. He apologized for the delay and told me that he's trying to get everything worked out, there's just been a question about small voltage spikes. He doesn't think it will be an issue but getting it figured out is his top priority. I don't even want the dealer to install any accessories. I think I can handle floor mats and a roof rack...
Rest assured the POS loaner Journey is being driven like I hate it, which I do. Barely 19 mpg and the brake pedal makes a squishing sound in stop and go traffic, and that was when I was driving it normally...

Thats sucks man. Im truly sorry youre going through this.

Then dealerships are "dumbfounded" about why the general public hate them so much.

I hear talk on here about large and small alternator but AFAIK it's 220A vs 240A. That's nothing, and either is huge compared to vehicles of old.

How'd it turn out?
The AC is blowing cold, and I don't even have to crank up the fan past 50% to be comfortable.
There were some issues picking it up that ended with the sales manager communicating through the salesman because he was so upset about me opening the case with corporate. He initially told me that he doesn't have to include the floor mats and roof rails because they were 'trying to help me out' but I still 'got them in trouble with corporate and burned them in a survey', so I had to choose between the two. I told them that the floor mats were part of the original sale and I have a 'we owe' for the roof rails, so I won't pick up the vehicle if I'm not getting everything. After some back and forth they told me that the roof rails are in the back but the floor mats they set aside were sold out of spite. There were some raised voices, my wife unleashed her inner Cuban, then we were told to drive around to the back so I could get my roof rails and GTFO. The salesman apologized for everything and told me that he's going to make sure my floor mats are there by the time I get off work on Monday. He said something along the lines of "I have to get those mats because that's a legal thing... I don't want legal stuff..."
I hope somebody learned a lesson, cuz I sure as hell did.

Well, that dealership sounds like an awful place to deal with, but it’s good that your ac is working now. Does it operate any different from stock?

The recirculation button in the middle of the fan control knob is my compressor on/off. I still have varying temperature control and everything else. He was nice enough to put a sticker over the recirc symbol, which my wife immediately peeled off and stuck it back on crooked.

Alright man! Thanks for following up to the end!

I hope it works for years to come but please post if it starts acting weird.

So many salesman are children, I've never understood it.

Update on the runaround... Feel free to roast me for buying a vehicle without AC, my dad can still beat up your dad!
Wife and I decided that we couldn't get our point across over the phone so we insisted on a meeting with the service and sales managers. Service manager told us that it's taking longer than expected because they use Vintage Air, a third party, to perform the installation and they forgot to order a part, and it's not a Mopar unit like I was promised. He swears up and down that it's standard procedure and it will be covered under my extended warranty if there are any issues. That almost escalated from verbal to physical... Sales manager told me the vehicle was taken to the shop and should have been ready last Tuesday the 21st. I never received a call last Tuesday so I walked into the service manager's office to get an update and he told me that the vehicle was just dropped off that morning. He swore up and down that the salesman dropped the ball, misunderstanding, yadda yadda... I convinced him to write a 'we owe' for a set of roof rails and made it clear that everything better be done exactly as promised, or we would be having a meeting with the GM and owner. As of last Friday, he promised to have the vehicle back in my possession today, the 28th. I'm starting to wonder if there was an accident with my vehicle and they've been trying to fix that...
The salesman offered to give me a discount on a 4 pin wiring harness because I mentioned installing a trailer brake. Even my wife laughed at that...

The loaner car now has over 1,200 miles, good luck selling that as 'new'.
That's really sad as I all I'm hearing is total lack of confidence, and ability to follow through with promises. Typical shyster-dealer. I'm hoping you walked away with that stripped down jeep for practically nothing, however, my guess is moving forward you'll likely never do this again.
