Not an XR, I'm pretty sure all JL D44 fronts have them.

Edit 2024+ models.
Interesting. I wonder if it is related to the FAD also going away in the newer models.

Can you please clarify for us which wranglers get CV axles and which ones get traditional u-joint axles?
They usually don't answer those types of questions. At one point I built a database of those details, but can't anymore.

@AllMoparParts.com might be able to shed some light on that topic.

You mean that the universal one? The shop is not willing to work on that
Different shop? Or see if someone in the area that knows what they are doing is willing to help teach you how to do it for some pizza/beer/other food or drinks?

The data is not laid out by trim models, Its all based on sales codes. Here is what I can easily tell but will probably not be helpful

CV Front axles are used on
Dana 30/M186 Axles
Dana 44/M210 Axles
Dana 44/M210 Wide Axles + the HD Tube versions

Does your Sahara have a Front Axle Disconnect or the block off plate?

Our 2025 Willy's has the block off plate and the CV joints. They may have changed to the CV's if there is not functioning FAD to transmit less feel to the driver on sharp turns on the street.

Our 2025 Willy's has the block off plate and the CV joints. They may have changed to the CV's if there is not functioning FAD to transmit less feel to the driver on sharp turns on the street.
It has the electric disconnect

Are you sure you want to introduce a weak spot into your Jeep? They can be easily destroyed by a branch.
Really? The boot can be damaged, but the CV joints are just about indestructible. The only time they fail is if the boot is damaged and you drive like that a long time. But if you are on the trail and pop the boot, you can easily make it home and replace later.

Indeed, but would be fun to just not need to replace the boot at all when you puncture them :)
