We went out today to test out the catch can, it seems to be working, no smoke.

Also... while out today I noticed the sway bar end links are rubbing the inner liners. I had to put a spacer behind the liners so they wouldn’t rub against my resi hose.

I

So I decided to just cut a section out, this gave me the clearance for the sway bar end links and I don’t have to worry about any rubbing of the resi hose.

Lol.... thanks.... Yeah,. I stayed in., and the wife took pic, it always feels worse in the drivers seat, than it looks on the photo. It felt like I was on a wall, lol.

Took it up on ramp to check my inner liner modification.... end link has plenty of room now and I can stop worrying about my resi hose being rubbed by fender as well.

While up there I heard a clunk, and after looking it over, I found this......

Ole..... the trials and tribulations of long travel shocks............but it’s worth it......
I’m gonna try turning the bolt around first, (easiest) that should give me a 1/4”to 3/8” extra room, then go from there. If that is the right direction but I need a little more then I’ll try and find one of these....

Couple of small things.......

The wife couldn’t get past the bright white Bestop logo on the back of the soft top. I said your in charge of cosmetics I’m just the mechanic, fix it if you want, so she did.

I have to admit , it does look a 100 percent better. She also said she found a hitch cover with my likeness on it, so she just had to get it..........

God love her.......?

FYI, RCV’s in without FAD and I can’t tell the difference.

I'm still a newb - please educate me on what "RCV" and "FAD" mean. Also, is that a different axel or is it just strengthened by the gusseting?

Rcv is a brand of axle shafts, they’re an upgrade from stock. FAD is front axle disconnect, the jls have a 2 pc front axle now so when you’re in 2wd the front driveshaft doesn’t spin. When you put in 4 wd the fad connects the 2 pcs and makes it a one piece axle. Before 2018 all Jeeps with solid front axles the front driveshaft spun all the time. The axle in pic is actually another members axle, but what you’re seeing is a truss, or brace to reinforce the axle housing.

These woods look familiar. I’m from PCB originally but live near Pensacola now.
We just ordered our first Jeep ever, that should be delivered within the next 3 weeks.
We already have 37s and some other things waiting on it.
What area are you from? We’ll prob see you around.

This is why , when @limeade told us about rock jock upper control arm joints coming out, I knew I wanted them. This bushing is not liking this angle at all. I was looking at other options, but the rock jocks are exactly what I need......

I haven’t installed mine yet , because I’m curious how long the oem will hold up. They’re sitting comfortably on the shelf next to my dynatrac ball joints, also in a holding pattern......

Got this yesterday.......

Been meaning to put it on since July....... .. to be honest, I just flat forgot about it. My foam rubber that covers the brake cable is getting a little to comfortable laying on the diff. Lol..... there’s no damage to cable, everything’s working fine, but it’s time to address it.

I got it installed, and it holds the cables up off the diff nicely..........
