Yes, but my engine preference is
1. diesel
2. 2.0
3. 3.6

And currently I can't get diesel or 2.0 with xr package. May go with 3.6 as it isn't bad. I just wouldn't mind trying the other 2 as I didn't find the 3.6 impressive in my 2016. But I didn't have issues either.
I have a 2020 JLURD with 28k miles that I will be selling soon. Hit me up if you want the build details.

You have gotten well over 40 reasons posted by other forum members to pass on this vehicle.

I will add this one, why would you think Jeep lost ten's of thousands to buy this back from the original owner if they truly could have fixed it properly.

The sweet taste of the low price will turn into the sourness of a lemon the first time you have a re-occuring problem with it. You will also have no recourse from Jeep if they can't fix it.

Not only that but in the long term that great price you paid will be discounted in a big way when you go to sell it especially if its a branded title. Search the term, you might be surprised what you read.

Be an educated consumer, there are tens of thousands of great Jeeps out there, take your time, do your homework and find one. It's not like there going to disappear from the planet in the near future and your going to miss out.

Good luck to you on your quest.

My 2021 Wrangler was a buyback. Jeep in Tri-state area no longer give loaners. I was left carless for months while making payments. If it was a part issue that may be a different story.
Jeep 100% knows why the buyback process took place. It was a 4 month process. If they aren’t telling you why I’d avoid a potential headache and keep looking.

I searched and I couldn't find much info. I have been researching jeeps - I had a jk 2016-2019 that I enjoyed and ready to have another one.

The best 'deal' I can find is a 23 rubicon with 7,000 miles. It is a 'buyback'. Obviously, someone had enough issues Jeep purchased it back. Warranty is remaining 3/36,000. Dealer says no issues now and unsure what issues were.

Anyone have experience purchasing a 'buyback'? Should I avoid or consider?

Thanks
I have purchased, over the years, at least two buybacks from Chrysler. The dealer knows what was wrong with it. It has to be in the disclosure when it's purchased by them, so make them check.

Because I had one that was similar that had issues I would not unless it was extremely cheap

Why even put yrself tru that? There’s so many jeeps out there don’t settle for a buy back.

I bought my 2021 JLURD a couple months ago with 13k miles as a buyback. Reviewed the service records and bought it. I knew exactly what the issues were and was ok taking it on. The original warranty is still in effect (5yr/100k powertrain), with an additional warranty due to it being a buyback. Don't regret it all. Stellantis has since paid to replace some parts, but I have another vehicle so I'm not up a creek when it goes in.

Review the service records, factor it in to the price, and do what is best for you.

I saved $8k or so.

definitely no.
jeeps are a tricky lot. mine has been perfect but i wouldn’t risk a buyback - especially if they don’t know what they did to it. think about this - do you really think they have no idea or couldn’t track down what was actually done?? it’s in the computer. they could find it with less than 2 min of work. they either don’t want to tell you or they’re lazy. would you want to purchase from either?

Dude, you would be better off buying a 2005 Land Rover LR3 than a buy back Jeep. You need to take the irrational "feelings" stuff out of the decision tree. It's simply a shit ideal.

How good a deal? Figure out what you might get trading it if it comes to that. It’s a piece of machinery and can be fixed. Design issues can’t be and you will get that with a new one. FCA came close to buying back my 2016 van but they got it figured out just as they were starting that process. I decided to keep the van. This was at 3500 miles. I now have 74000 and hadn’t had an issues with that component since ( robotized manual trans ). Evidently they are somewhat problematic but honestly all of the issues with that van are design related and poor dealership experience. They seem to be lacking knowledge/ experience, are not setup to properly perform the work and tend to throw parts at it instead of spending time doing a proper diagnosis. Just the way I see it.

My thoughts are no. Having owned 7 jeeps, the quality and reliability has only gotten worse, my 2020 JLU Willys Diesel is one break down away from becoming a Tacoma.
