That is very interesting, my experience has been pad replacements at 30k miles as an average, this is why I am somewhat shocked at the longevity of these pads. How could the engineers allow something like this to happen !! :-)
Agree, it is a stupid design based on stupid EPA assumptions, much like the EGR systems etc. At least elimination of the aux battery is within my purvey.
I had a 2.5 inch lift and 35 inch tires put on the night I bought the jeep at the dealership, also added a warn winch a couple of months later and a roof rack.
When I bought my Jeep I also bought an used Moby1 Off road Tear Drop Trailer (2200 lbs). I decided to buy a set of Brake pads and rotors since I would be towing frequently and parts were hard to get. I have been checking the brakes at around every 10k miles, I am now at 72k miles and the brakes...
I am not an electrician, so I can only hypothesis, My wife has a 2015 Rubicon, still factory in terms of mods. Car wouldn't start the other day, I checked battery, Good, fuses, Good, starter, Good, saw a utube video on grounding straps, pulled up a schematic and found every grounding strap/cable...
All the time, I prospect and cant always find anyone to go with me, I do consider my options when I do, more worried about the jeep conking out than anything else.
I had the same happen to me, but it was after I had about 6000 miles on it, it has stabilized at 24.5 mpg average and 19mpg avg. when I tow my trailer. I have over 50k on it now.
Contact a lawyer, he can hire a forensic engineer to review the engine issue, dont touch anything, you obviously had oil in it when you dropped it off.
I had the fuel injection pump go south this year, I was at 41k miles so was within warranty, admittedly its technically a different manufacture "Bosch". I wouldn't trade my Diesel Willys in on anything else, I tow an extreme offroad trailer (Moby-1) and this animal has gotten us through some of...
Where can I find the specs for the stiffer suspension? I tow a Moby-1 trailer and the back end sags, I balanced the tongue weight and ended up installing Lift bags on the rear to adjust, I have the Willys 3.0 diesel.
