I noticed a clunking sound when I’m sitting still, and turning my wheels left or right. First, I thought it was my track bar because I noticed some play and heard the clunk when I had someone turned the wheels. My current set up is rock truck steering components track bar, drag link and tie rod. I previously had a different track bar and thought replace it with the rock jock was the better idea. Again, I continued to have the noise and then I found out about upgraded bolts for the track bar. I replaced those today thinking that would solve the problem and lo and behold clunking was there again. Other parts of the suspension upgrades include a frame side track bar brace, knuckles, and terra flex ball joints. All components are relatively new and greased. Please give some insight.

Diagnosing this online is like trying to give a hair cut over the phone.

You have replaced trackbar, drag link and tie rod, did ball joints..are they adjustable? I have the MC Ballers and if the lowers are loose, there is clicking in 4wd.

Ujoints or CV joints? How many kms does it have?
What steering stabilizer do you have? Is it tight? Has it been relocated and flipped up? Is it hitting something? Can you not get a buddy to steer while you lay under there and see whats making the noise?
Does it just do it from standing or on just on actual turns as well?

Jeeps at 70100 miles. Factory cv axles. I do have a dual stabilizer setup with dual fox stabs. The steering components were installed by me last fall. I don’t really have no one to help test anything out. My buddy was around when I checked the track bar. I had him turn the wheel and that’s when I felt the pop and saw the track back move near the axle side. That’s what led me to replace the track bar. Then more research lead to the bolts. Obviously I’m wrong. I know it’s almost impossible to sort out online. Just hoping someone can give some ideas on what else to check.

Use a GoPro or your phone set up to video, and turn wheel yourself… if don’t see anything, then just have to ask someone at the Starbucks or the Walmart to turn for you while you put hands on joints… sometimes you can feel it when you can’t really see it….This is really the best way to find it….. also just keep in mind that even though your steering is upgraded and or newish, it can still be loose, or have failed….

People really forget that it's legal to pay a hooker to turn your wheel for you so you can grab some rods.

You've got a loose bearing somewhere in your suspension. This is how you find which one it is.
