I recently installed 315/70r17 BF KO2s on my 2 inch Mopar lifted JLU. I also had the Mopar steel bumpers installed and the high clearance fender flairs. All this to say that the 35”aka 315 tier is rubbing on the rear bumper dispute installing the complete Mopar spare tier relocation and support kits. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a fix?

Also, does that 3rd brake light relocation wiring look kosher? I feel like it should probably be in some type of shroud if not some thing a little more robust, giving in some protection against friction, etc..

So, my spare tire reinforcement bracket on my 2021 that came with my order did not have the spare tire relocation included. I would like to see your setup with the tire dismounted to see if it has the 1"or so risers to the studs to get that carrier lifted up.

I’m thinking @1BadDad is correct. It looks like you might not have the riser installed.
Also, yup… the wiring is correct. That’s the way they have you do it. I wrapped mine up in Tesa Tape just to add some protection/piece of mind.

Can you confirm you have the two pieces I have pointed out installed? I believe I see the top one in your photo.

Based on the Teraflex carrier instructions and which mounting holes to use, there is about an inch or so less clearance with the steel bumper, which the OP has, versus the plastic bumper.

I also agree, it's hard to tell if the Mopar riser brackets are in there, but I would think there'd be plenty of clearance if there is.

If you don't have them, I have a set available. Any chance you're in Gainesville?

My 315/70R17s rubbed until I did a 5 tire rotation. after the first rotation, it wore enough and it didn't rub anymore.

Edit: I don't have the relocation kit, but do have a Mopar tailgate reinforcement and 18.5x17+25 AEV Borah Wheels with BFG KO2 315/70R17 tires.

Here are some pictures of mine. Same tires (315/70 KO2s), steel bumpers, and mopar relocation kit. You can see how much space I have between the tire and bumper.

Would you mind showing me a picture of what your tire carrier looks like without the wheel on it so I can show my service guy because he is insisting that it’s done right properly however I highly doubt that since you have no gap and mine is actually rubbing and we have the same situation basically thank you in advance

An easy way to tell is look at how your carrier is secured to the tailgate. If it's on studs with nuts securing it, then it has the relocation (riser) brackets. If it has bolts holding it, then it does not. I don't see any way that you're fitment is that tight compared to the other pics above and am pretty sure you only have the reinforcement bracket.

To post what others are thinking - OP, I’m glad you didn’t post a photo of your “chub.”
