Update from my end:

You cannot turn off fast charging on the iPhone, and turning off the optimized charging, unfortunately, does nothing.

I am quite close to pulling apart my console and dash to see if I can substitute a higher quality cable in.

I hate the port on the dash as it looks cluttered and the cables get in the way. This is honestly the only problem I have had with my Jeep so far

I have the exact same complaint. I really think it's the newer iPhones. My older XS Max was working fine in the console for over 6 months with no problems. It started when I upgraded to the 13 Pro Max. Absolutely drives me nuts as I don't like using the USB1 in the stack either, but it's the only way that works consistantly. I have tried some of the other fixes, USB-Lightning adapter, deleting and re-pairing etc. and none of them have worked. I had the dealership take a look too, but said it worked fine on their phone.

Well, they dealer is currently replacing the USB, I am sad that we don't believe this will resolve anything though.

I came back to reply here from early April,

replacing USB ports or media hub didn’t fix the problem. The internal cable, that connects the two, at least in its iteration, appears to not be replaceable part by stellantis.

I got official response from jeep cares here in private conversation though, that Stellantis is aware of this issue and that specific undisclosed hardware component is in testing to remedy situation. I got no estimated timeline to when it will be ready, though.

until then, I am using dash usb ?‍♂

Thanks for sharing with the community Grega!! Another problem that has been prevalent for YEARS (people reporting it back in 2018) and it's not resolved.... I want to return my Jeep then.

@JeepCares - I have another problem and I'd like to return my Jeep now please unless you can provide me the product that I paid for. If it says anywhere in any paperwork that I signed, "your USBs will not work as you expect them" okay, fine, I didn't read something. However, I paid for this feature so I'd like it to work. I'll also take 50% off a Mopar lift and XR wheels and call the issue resolved.

I obviously have a lemon so I'd like to use the lemon law and have my Jeep replaced or fully refund what I paid for it.

Hi @hiimmike,
We understand the frustration. Feel free to send us a PM for further assistance with this.

I can confirm replacing the USB did not fix the issue. My Jeep is a lemon, @JeepCares is going to replace it because it's a lemon.

@JeepCares - I sent you a PM to arrange pickup of a new non-problematic vehicle.

Wanted to pop back in to report on progress...

Using the Anker Powerline USB cable:

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Powerline-Pull-up-Resistor-Samsung/dp/B01A6F3WHG?th=1

and thoroughly cleaning out the USB-C port on my phone - this means not just compressed air, but also a dental pick (the sharp end of those plastic floss pick thingys)...I pulled out an astounding amount of lint and dust that was packed solid into the back of the port...I have obtained notable results. In about three weeks of use, both my wife and I, in both my Challenger and Wrangler, have experienced no disconnects and almost no issues of any kind with Android Auto functionality.

I will need quite a bit more time before I can call the problem "fixed"...but this is by far the best performance I have seen in either vehicle in the time i've owned them.
