CEL but no error codes

The check engine light show up and stayed on for a few days. checked for errors and there were no stored messages and no DTC using a scanner (using one that I have and one at auto zone).

It takes forever to get into a dealer, so wanted to see if anyone had ideas/thoughts on this while waiting for that to happen. Thought it might be gas cap since it was fueled up the day before, but I thought that usually showed a DTC when scanned. This is on a 2023 4xe with about 10k miles.

Just to link together similar posts (this one did not show up when I did a search of the forums?), but it could be the usual fuel cap issue, but would have expected that to give some DTC codes?

I used OBDLink to scan for codes and got none. I then scanned with JScan and it gave me 6 stored codes. All scanners are not the same.

The security gateway can block codes what are not OBD2 yet triggers the check engine light. Thus many generic OBD2 readers will come up with no codes but a light.

thanks. most should work with using the security bypass adapter? or can a tazer work without the bypass?

Tazer is an SGW bypass.

Your scanner is insufficient. If you can’t properly read the codes what are the odds you can fix it? Get a dealer appointment, you’re under warranty.
