I've had a UPR catch can in my JLUR for thousands of miles with no problems, but I seem to recall reading (but can't find it now) that others had issues running them and codes would be thrown--particularly at altitude.

Twice in a month, I have thrown codes when going above 8,000 feet and though it could be a coincidence, I am thinking it is not.

Anyone recall that?

If I recall correctly, this was only happening with the Mishimoto cans. I ran UPR's on Fat Ninja and Honey Badger without issue.

That's not to say people haven't experienced a light with the UPR. I just haven't myself.

I have RIPP's on Pain Train and no light, as well.

I just started throwing codes for about the past month and thought it was ESS junk, but after removing the aux battery, F42, and adding Smart Start/Stop I have ruled that out.

I pulled the UPR this weekend to see if that is the source. If it returns, it's a trip to the dealer to sort it and I would have needed to pull it anyway.

Thanks Chevy.

What were the codes?
I should have taken a screenshot but didn't. They were related to "post-catalytic lean condition".

Waiting to see if they re-appear.

If it's from the catch can it will be a P2C90 "Crank Case Ventilation". It happens when the catch can system flows too much air. Sounds like yours is something else.

I recall seeing on the Mishimoto site that it can cause codes and cel at altitudes above 4000 ft. Since I live at 7000 ft and rarely go below 4000 ft I haven't installed one.

Thanks; it is likely the O2 sensor given the description of the code. Just waiting for it to happen again--I can likely force it by heading up above 8K feet--then let the dealer change it.
