Old school Coleman for me. Also bring my backpacking pocket rocket for coffee.

This is one of the best. I'd also recommend the single version burner. I love that it can run Petrol.

Cargo space inside the Jeep is always a premium so I the pick the most compact design of anything. In terms of stove the Jetboil system is absolutely my favorite, clam-shell design and the most compact stove+pot all-in-one system on the market. And you don't need to buy a sepereate grill for most cases, I just slap a cast-iron griddle pan on top and does the job.

Is there an adapter so you can hook this up to a normal propane can? Do you know the part for that?

I love my camp chef system, but it twice the size of this jet boil.

Yes they are smokeless PROVIDED you do not put the wood above the holes near the top lip. They have 3 sizes, Yukon, Bonfire, Ranger. The Bonfire will take normal sized firewood, but the Ranger you need to cut the wood down to keep it below those holes. Even when you have some wood above it's very little smoke. It burns the wood to complete ash, and very very little ash when done. I have not tried the Yukon.
Finally picked up a bonfire during the recent sale. These things are LEGIT!

Late to the discussion, but I have a couple of things that I didn't see mentioned previously that might help decide which is the best camp stove for them.

We recently camped at about 6K feet with a temperature of 45-50F. We have two burner Coleman stove and it reheated some already prepared food but it would have taken a long time to cook something from scratch. One of the other couples was using a Skottle, I don't know the brand but it might have been the new iKamper, anyway, the large "WOK" pan acts like a heatsink in cold weather and there wasn't enough BTU's to heat it much beyond four inches from the center which made it a small cooking surface.

It wasn't ours, we didn't use it and I have not idea if maybe they were doing something wrong but before then it never occured to me that high altitude, thinner air and low temperatures could affect cooking so much. The other thing that others have mentioned is how well it packs up. Another couple on the trip had an orange two burner Jetboil. It appeared to work the best, was easy to clean and it was great how it packed up.

Prior to that trip we were set to buy a Skottle setup, afterwards we ruled that out in favor of the Jetboil until the sticker shock.. We don't camp at higher elevations or lower temperatures much so the Coleman works well enough for now.

The Camp Chef is a good option and cheap if you wanna use propane. I'm a BIG fan of the little butane stoves.

I pre-make my meals and use a standard Jetboil. I like simple and easy cleanup.

2 burner camp chief is my go to, I’ve got the old Colman dual fuel too but the propane is really easy.
for crazier stuff than car camping I’ve got a jet boil with a hanging kit and that works great for porta-ledge life.

We use a Camp Chef Everest and a propane tank adapter that fits perfectly on the Mopar tailgate table.

I have the same one! We love it. I also have a tailgate grill, a coleman 300 something, it’s nice but I’m considering selling it and getting a 22” blackstone. The Coleman is too long for the jeep.

I love my whisperlite international! It’s my go to for moto camping, and has the added bonus of using unleaded gasoline.

That said, for the Jeep and a few times a year it’s really hard to beat a Coleman stove. Simple, reliable and cheap.

If you’ve got the money, use it enough, or just want bling a Tembo Tusk Skottle is my go to Jeep cooking system. No pots, no pans, no table necessary, easy clean up and we usually don’t even bother with plates. Meal prep on the tailgate table and cooking/dining on the skottle. It’s just the right kind of simple for us. Only negative is the price tag but that quit stinging long ago and we’re still in love with the skottle. We are constantly learning how versatile it is, even made biscuits on it last weekend.

+1 on the skottle. I use it more at home than I do camping, honestly. It’s great to set up on the back porch really quick to make breakfast, burgers, quesadillas, tacos, cheesesteaks, whatever. It’s a pleasure to use. I’ve definitely gotten my moneys worth out of it so far.

I spent weeks researching camping stoves and recently ended up buying the Kovea Slim Twin. I wanted a two burner and it had great reviews. I've only used it once so far but I really like it. You can get really precise with the burner levels, it boils water super fast and it's smaller/lighter than most of the two burners.
