Hey All,

I'm having the same issue as all of you. Received prompt for an update, which I accepted. The next morning, I got to the car and it had the error 20 code. Nothing in the dash area would respond, including temp controls and aux power bank. I pulled the fuse to see what would happen and it went to a screen saying the update failed and it was reverting to prior version. My update doesn't seem to move beyond 32%.

Any ideas?

If it's like mine it'll fail to a black screen with no error code after 32%, If you pull the fuse again it'll go to the white reverting to previous version screen and never show a progress bar.

I'm finding that Jeep dealers in this area do not offer loaner cars, if they offer anything it's a rental car and they only cover $35 a day which is less than the cost of the rental.

I've gone from miffed to more than miffed. Not only do I have to take time out of my day to fix this, shit happens, but now I have to pay out of pocket when there was nothing wrong with my car before the update.

PS I also tired a manual update with a USB and that's full of fail too.

It's really unfortunate. I enjoy the jeep quite a bit, but I've never had as many issues on any other vehicle. It's frustrating as well, because all the things that seem to fail on this vehicle seem pretty simple. I had the ever popular blue screen camera issue, and intermittent issues with the entire radio unit since I've owned it.

My dealership has been helpful with the camera issue, so I'm hoping they can assist with whatever is happening now with the radio. To some degree, I am starting to consider just having the whole Uconnect interface removed for something else. Problem is, I don't really know what else is available and if it will be able to control most of the things the current unit manages. I don't really care about Offroad pages and stuff like that, but I want the functionality of the temperature and the stereo. If anyone has any suggestions, it would be appreciated. This is a last resort move, as my preference would be to simply have the stock unit work.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It's weird you guys are having update failures on an OTA, seeing as how the aircard must work for the update to even download.

I had no issues with GPS, radio reception, or weather/weather maps. I don't think it's because of a fault, even if it was it should be able to revert.

I recently got the radio volume/backup camera lines update. Don't recall when exactly but it wasn't long ago. It went fine.

I recall having an update occur a few months ago and that one worked fine. Not sure what exactly it was for, but it went smoothly. However, with the one that happened yesterday evening, it completely messed everything up. No phone, no aux power bank, no temperature adjustment. I know that when it tried to revert back, I saw it got to 32% in the update before it again failed. So I'm thinking the issue is not to do with antenna/radio download ability or reception, but rather a messed up software patch. I'm no expert though. Prior to the update, things had generally been working well aside from the connect periodically resetting itself randomly while I would be driving around.

Mine did it a couple of days ago too. Battery dead this morning?

Good morning everyone,

We're terribly sorry to hear that the software update may have caused concerns for some of you. If you're currently experiencing concerns with your Uconnect system and would like me to look into your concerns further, please send us a private message.

Thanks,

Not as of yet, but I'm worried about it. I only noticed it this morning, so car was able to start. But I don't really know how to shut the screen without unplugging the battery, which isn't really practical. And I can't really afford to leave my vehicle at the dealership for a prolonged period. I'm hoping to drop it off there today so they can look at it tomorrow and have a game plan.

I wouldn't be surprised if the air card firmware gets updated first which may have failed and porked the whole thing.

I tried a USB update 9GB, failed too.
Do you happen to know what version you were currently running and what version you were upgrading to?

Pull that fuse dude. F97 like was mentioned. All you lose is the screen which is fubar anyway.
