I’ve called my local dealer and they said that they wouldn’t bother with anything to do with body mount install, basically they said we’re too busy and not worth the hassle in more simple words, two other 4x4 shops will do it but want to check out the vehicle before saying anything, I’m under the impression they think I tried to loosen the bolts up myself and did some damage and now looking for an escape route ??
Idk maybe I’m just better off putting the mopar step assist rail on myself and bail on this project for now, possibly reconsider when I’m going to put on a lift ?‍♂ unfortunately I’m the kind of person who doesn’t have much luck and if anything even has the slightest chance of going wrong I know I would be the one it happens to!

If they’re assembled with red Loctite, you will need to use heat. Heat them up, and remove them. A micro torch works well.

2020. Red on front, blue on middle, nothing on back. Used the heat and forward/back method. No issues.

Im having these same Ace rails installed by a local Jeep shop. I’m sure they are aware of the body bolt removal difficulties, but I’ll remind them of using heat because of the red thread lock on them. What non-slip strips did you use on the rails?
They are just some I got from harbor freight. They stick ok...but at least are easy enough to replace. Need to replace mine sometime soon.

Did you ever get the Ace rails installed? I recently had them put on by a local 4x4 shop(100 bucks), it only took them about 30 minutes w/out issue.

What kinda lift, tires are you thinking about? I’m jumping to 35” tires in the next few months.
I got a set of 35 XR I purchased off marketplace, but now debating if I should just go 37 and do a full upgrade cause since I have a diesel I got the 3.73 gears but not sure yet, I plan on doing this next year so I got time to get it all figured out, mopar offers a 2” lift for the diesel but i want something higher so I’m leaning towards metal cloak or aev for now

I hear lots of good things about AEV, solid quality. My plan is 35x11.5x17 rubber on the oem 7.5 rims with a set of 1” coil spacers and mopar LCA’s. I’m tying to stay stock as much as possible. All said and done, I’ll be at XR ride height.

You can find good deals on here or marketplace for suspension take off, wheels etc, I know you have a plan set out in mind but always worth checking and keep an eye out for anything that might pop up that could interest you, even staying stock a few mods here and there can improve your ride ???

Hi just trying to get some opinion from other members who might of pulled this off, I’ve read over a few thread but now debating whether to do my own work and attempt this or let a shop deal with it just Incase it goes south and a bolt breaks it’s on them, my question is how many people have attempted to remove the body mount bolts on their jlu? I have a MY22 and about to install sliders which use the body bolts as install method, I’ve read of heating up to loosen the loctite and even came across this awesome post by another board member with great advice, just trying to figure out what direction to go, thanks in advance!

I'm going to do my body lift later this spring. I had a well respected shop manager at my go-to auto body shop recommend that I spray Blasters PB Penetrating Catalyst on the bolts 3 days before I go to loosen them. He said just make sure it's not going to rain for those 3 days, and keep the vehicle dry. And then the day you go to crank those bolts off, spray a little more on them at least 4 hours prior to your project start.

I haven't actually tried it myself yet, but this guy's word is valuable. I mean, he's only been in the business for 50 years, what would he know? ?

If I were you I would use this technique, spray them 3 days prior, then 4 hours prior then loosen them a little bit, spray them a little more, maybe let it sit another hour, and then finish wrenching them off. You shouldn't have any issues.
