Best Setup for RV Flat Tow

I went with the Roadmaster base plate and Roadmaster wiring kit.
I used the ReadyBrute tow bar setup and the Ready Brake break away kit

The baseplate kit was very well matched to the JL and I measured and used a hole saw the keep the shield minimally cut for a super clean install look

I finished our tow setup and I am very satisfied with the way it turned out.
I may make a modification to the breakaway switch location in the near future. I would like to conceal (protect) it better.

I selected the RVi3 as a braking system.

I have the same tow bar/Ox.

Super C is a 2019 Renegade 36VSB on a Freightliner chassis/8.9L Cummins/Alision 3200. I have the Roadmaster BrakeMaster minus the breakaway for now

2018 JL Sport, Automatic.

For those who are towing with your JLs, here's a question.
I haven't towed yet. Geared up.
I'm going through the learning curve of the shifting tow scenario.
Per the Manual I'm having no problem getting set at Transmission in P, transfer case in N, engine off. Brake off.

Here's my challenge. Going back to 2H from N without the engine running as instructed in the Manual.
There is no way to perform the going back to 2H following towing as described in the Manual!
I took it to the Dealer and the Service Advisor tried it per the instructions, same experience.
No go,
The Manual must be wrong.

How do you go back to 2H after towing?

Footnote: Shifting the TC is a challenge, there are a couple of threads dealing with this issue.

If I recall I started mine put the manual trans in neutral then shift transfer case into 2H. I may of forgotten the "without nine running" part. Shoot even putting the transmission in gear vs. neutral doesn't make sense to me.

I like the RVI3 a lot. Not sure I’ll ever get to use it as we’ve got the MH up for sale. Maybe if we can’t get our price we’ll hold on to it and then have to put some sort of tow stuff in the Rubicon

I'm looking at the Maximus-3 tow loops as one option for flat towing. On their website, it says you must also use their JL Winch Mount for installation. Did you install the winch mount on your plastic bumper, or do you really need the winch mount?

Not sure why that would be required. I certainly didn't add that on my install. I'm on the frame. A lot of what they design to is metal and Rubicons. I was their first Customer who did a 18 JL Sport with its all plastic stuff. The cutout procedure is sort of a figure it out because the bumpers between the Rubicon and Sport are different. Not sure on the Sahara.

You will need the hole saw, the wheel saw, good set of sockets, wth multiple extensions. There's lots of wrenching. I also found some silicone adhesive handy for holding spacers in place temporarily while bolting.

Might want to give them a call and ask. They are very responsive.

I also only installed the Maximus JL Tow Loops on my Sahara. I don't recall any mention of requiring the use of their JL winch mount on their website or in the enclosed instructions. Very easy install and very happy with Maximus stuff.

It tows with no issues. The 2019 Renegade Verona 36VSB has a 20K towing capability. On short trips, we tow my 2500HD with golf cart, longer trips we will be putting the JL, golf cart and Harleys in out enclosed trailer.

You will have a two brackets from the Sport taken off and not reused. See first photo.

Can the maximus 3 tow loops take a shackle / d-ring or are they just specifically for Tow Bar connection?
