4 wheel parts of all places but it looks like they are back to 399. They had them online at 339 plus 10% off. Who knows they may cancel my order…$300 is a good deal. Is that still available? Where?

I had the Haltec chucks on my 2 hose system. The Haltecs wouldn't go down on the Apex RPVs enough to depress the Schrader, due to the step on the RPVs. I had to machine the ends of the Haltecs back to allow them to go further down on the RPV. I recall reading somewhere that the Scrader valve needs to be depressed fully or it limits the air flow. That would slow your air up time. Check for that.Well decision made got the 709s at $300 a wheel. Too good of a deal.
Will let you know about the valves as I have the apex stems on my shelf and will check clearance with my 4 hose system for the compressor.
Congratulations, that's a helluva deal! And great choice, btw.4 wheel parts of all places but it looks like they are back to 399. They had them online at 339 plus 10% off. Who knows they may cancel my order…
What plug did you use?I can vouch for this…I punctured a front sidewall on a sharp rock and drove several hundred yards on down the trail without even realizing I was flat. Never broke the bead. Stopped and put a plug in the side and aired back up, finished the weekend of wheeling , and drove home with no issues.
I went out and test fit the connection. It locked into place snug but will see when it’s on the wheel.I had the Haltec chucks on my 2 hose system. One of the guys I was running with grabbed one out of his kit. I’m sure it was just a standard tire plug. What plug did you use?
Last time I went off-roading (by myself) I almost cut through my sidewall. I had my spare with me, but the capability to plug a puncture is pretty huge!
My problem with my Haltech chucks was that the face of ghe air chuck contacted the she step on the RPV bu didn't push the schrader down much at all.I went out and test fit the connection. It locked into place snug but will see when it’s on the wheel.![]()
Sounds like life priorities need to be addressed. I will be praying for you brother. Jesus, get him in his Jeep.I'll never need beadlock wheels for the little bit of wheeling I do, which is less & less unfortunately.
I wish I needed them OK!

I really appreciate that my friend. I was hoping for the summer of flip but health issues have made it more like the summer of R.I.P.Sounds like life priorities need to be addressed. I will be praying for you brother. Jesus, get him in his Jeep.
I’m pretty certain you’re confusing the MR709s with either the Icon Recon Pro or Teraflex Nomad wheels. Both the Recon Pros and Nomads have a 4 piece rash ring.Congratulations, that's a helluva deal! And great choice, btw.
Let us know about the valve and the rash rings. I bring up the rings because I think this wheel used to come with 4-pc quarter rings. Looks like they are now 1-piece rings, which is good.
You could be right, on all accounts. I was looking at beadlocks for the new JL back in Jan/Feb this year and that is when I dug into the Method beadgrips. I really wanted the 709s but ended up with the 703s. I think it was because I was working to keep the unsprung weight down. At this point I'm not 100% sure. I swear the wheel had 4-piece rings back then, same as the Icon's. I'm familiar with the Icon's because I run the Rebounds on my Raptor. It's only a few spokes away from a Recon. I've never laid eyes on a Terraflex Nomad wheel.I’m pretty certain you’re confusing the MR709s with either the Icon Recon Pro or Teraflex Nomad wheels. AFAIK, the MR709s are relatively “new”, releasing in the last couple months.
The downsides to the MR709 (in my eyes) is that the rash ring and hardware adds a considerable amount of weight; they’re in the ballpark of what a beadlock wheel weighs. Check the wheel specs on Method’s product page and then compare to the standard MR703. I’m not sure if the number listed includes the weight of the ring and hardware or not, but if it does, then they weigh quite a bit. Disappointing as this was the style of wheel I was hoping to go with.
I’ve heard that the Recon rash rings hold up about as well as you said, which is disappointing. Appreciate you posting the feedback - I know I’ve taken them off my consideration list. The new icon wheels with replaceable rock rash rings are a joke. They didn't survive 4 hours of the Rubicon. They do look sweet though!
