Agreed. My Wrangler camera gives me the best vision and sense of distance from any other backup camera I've had.

I agree. I use the rear camera when backing up to a utility trailer and use the colored guide bars as my reference, when i stop and get out to hook it up the trailer ball is directly under the trailer receiver. Its spot on.

Anyone tried upgrading the backup camera to maybe a higher quality one or something that gives a wider view?
Thanks
I have no problem with the camera when backing up in daylight. I have the 8.whatever" screen, so maybe that has something to do with it? However it is almost useless at night. And that is because the factory LED light clusters put the reverse light up in the air and off to the side. So there is a huge dark spot right where you are looking.

It could be a little wider view, too. I've had better reverse cameras in that regard, but it's not bad enough for me to want to upgrade.

When I get a new rear bumper, I'm definitely adding more light back there for reverse.

I wish the back up camera had an alarm sound as well...like most back up cameras do.
Mine does. (My bumper has the sensors, not the camera, but they work in unison.) Maybe it’s part of safety group option?

I am no expert and I’m sure there is some one to argue this at me but early this morning while waiting for Santa my oldest and I did an experiment.

I have a Loaded Taco and a maxed out JL. My JL’s camera is not as clear as my Taco’s at night. Even if I block the back up lights on the Taco it still has some kind of night vision or filter adding light to the image or it seems to brighten the image. [GALLERY=][/GALLERY]
