backup camera suddenly stopped working

My backup camera is a blue screen and my radio was rebooting itself over and over and now the radio is completely black and nothing. $50,000 vehicle. Dealership does not know what it is.

Its happened several times to mine again. I bought the Jeep for doing home health, (I’m a therapist) and drive 100-200 miles per day with numerous start cycles. The last few days I’ve been Pushing the ignition button once before pushing the clutch to start so it has more time to boot. Likely just a coincidence but it has not blue screened me in several days. The only reason I’ve tried this is because it always seems like I was in a rush when it happened?

Just a heads up, Darlene from jeep cares contacted my dealer and I was notified there changing the camera and harness! When I questioned the svc advisor what he found he claimed the factory got involved and parts are on the way.

The bigger issue is that now that I have just a black screen I can’t even operate the air conditioner. I am starting to get a little frustrated at this point as nobody seems to have a sense of urgency on this. Thank goodness it is summer and I don’t need the heater. LOL

Radio mysteriously worked for 24 hours yesterday. Woke up to black screen again this morning with no radio or air conditioner access either. There are some serious gremlins in this thing. I have no idea why it would work after not working for two weeks for one day and then go back to a black screen with nothing. Maybe I only purchased radio for two days a month.

Ours has been having this issue since we picked up the Jeep. First time we took it to the dealer, it worked when they put it in reverse and said it must have been a fluke. Later that same day it didn't turn on again and this time I took a pic with my phone have have since everytime I get a chance for documentation. Second time at the dealer they tried saying no issue and I showed them the photos of the black screen while in reverse, so they called tech support who told them it was the radio. Changed out radio and the same day I picked it up, no camera again. It is now going back for the 3rd time tomorrow for this issue which may seem trivial to some but for my wife, it is really ticking her off. For as long as back up cameras have been around, this should not be happening and the dealers lack of ability to correct is rediculous. Jeepcares has been in contact iwth me, but paying this much for a new car and then having to drop it off for service 3 times in 1100 miles is rediculous. Hope they step up and correct the issue as it appears from this post as well as a few others, many are having this issue and it is not tied to one particular radio size.

I'll update if the dealer actually corrects the issue this time and what the correction was.

Looks like our camera may finally be fixed. The dealer installed a new camera this time as well as updated the software last Tuesday and so far everything seems to be working like it should. Not sure which of these fixed it, but glad to see they may have finally gotten it fixed.

My camera glitched for the 1st time today. 1,800 miles. Worked as normal a few hours later, so will just keep an eye on it for now...

You do not have to bring your Jeep to your selling dealer to have it serviced. You can visit any dealer in your area to have this looked into further. I do see that you have been discussing this with my colleague, Jasmine. She can help locate additional dealers if needed.

I meant the Jeep only has 100 miles on it, I'll be bringing it in next week to the dealer only 10 minutes away
