Well that does look fairly easy, we already have an auto stop start eliminator installed so the aux battery is kind of unnecessary

Remove fuse F42. Then disconnect aux battery negative and isolate. It should be the thinnest of the negative cables on the 2020.

I have question When I disconnect aux battery will aux switch still work ?
Even my main battery is draining slowly, too I’m want to switch it to Odyssey battery.
I want add 30 inch bar light , double 3inch lights and winch future.

Aux battery has nothing to do with aux switches.

Hi Siddarth:

I take no issue with the quality of Odyssey Batteries, but do believe that when it comes time to replace a JL battery that owners should replace it with a group H7 battery (rather than a smaller H6) as per the following:

https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/main-battery-replacement-talk-jl-jt.100534/

Depending on how a JL is outfitted by the factory it may come with an H6 or H7 battery. But if you read the thread attached you will see how an H7 will fit regardless, and I believe, the increased cost, if any, justified by the increased power.

Good luck.

If I completely remove the aux can I just tape off both cables on the aux side and leave everything attached as is on the main battery? 42 fuse is already pulled.

that’s a decision I will have to make this May when my warranty expires. I currently have the bypass done but am strongly considering just removing it completely.

The day has finally come: my battery died after less than 2 years of ownership. Now, I’m fully aware of the aux battery (AKA the parasitic battery) issue, and have researched the topic thoroughly, but I still have a few questions.

The way I see it I have a few options: replace the aux battery. Aux battery delete by removing battery, taping the wires, and pulling fuse 42. Buy a tazer/mini and turn off ESS. Buy an ESS bypass cable.

Questions:
If I delete the aux battery, do I have to feed the aux ground up to the main battery and connect it? Which cables do I need to tape and which do I need to connect to the main battery? Keep in mind I have a MY23, and I’ve seen conflicting reports that my MY has different cables.
If I buy a tazer/mini/ESS bypass cable, do I still have to replace the aux battery? Will the parasitic battery drain the main battery with these tools on?

Appreciate any insight into my questions. I’m trying to figure out the best option before I start down this path. I have upgraded the main battery with an H7 and I don’t want the parasitic battery to deplete the new battery in any way.
Fwiw, I went 4 years on original batteries before I traded the Jeep this year. I was using a Tazer to disable ESS. Bang for your buck it's hard to beat, lots of features. Watch the classifieds for a deal.

I have the bypass done and the aux battery is still in place. There is no negative affect/downside to just leaving it. I see no reason to remove it, since with the bypass it isn't doing anything.

no danger of leaks or anything over the years? If not, I will probably just leave it in there.
