I hope to have it posted in time for everyone to read it while drinking that free beer... 🤣

I'm a lot behind on several projects at the moment, possibly due to wasting too much time on the forum.
See now, I knew that reply was coming, and thought on a scale of zero to super hurtful, broken beer promises are super hurtful, and delays on project installation videos are probably only slightly hurtful. So that’s fair.

I moved from Staunā€˜s to Trailhead Tire deflators. Made in USA. I like them better than the Staun’s.
I’ve been running these as well so far they have been spot on to the pressure I set it to (13 psi)
What I really like is I install then and go bs with every one come back and unscrew them and I’m done

About the same amount of time as the 4 hose system from the time my buddy unpacks everything airs down and then put it all away

Apex valve stems, a timer and the onboard air pressure monitor. Done before you can finish a beer.

Auto's are never reliable and a pain in the ass to set up and recalibrate constantly.
The onboard monitor is nice.

this, exactly.
the Stauns may take a bit of effort to set where you want them initially, but mine have worked perfectly in the years since i did the setup. (i've actually done the setup a couple of times as i've set them for increasingly lower pressures.)
screw 'em on, wait a little a bit, and put them away. seems like much less fuss to me than messing with a bunch of hose.

i can see where there may be a bit of risk of the adjustment changing if the lockring is not kept tight enough, but that's an easily avoidable issue.

I have a set of Staun’s. They work. For very fine adjustments they’re a pain in the ass but to let a lot of air out rather quickly they work well.

I thread on an automatic deflator one tire at a time and by the time I work my way around the vehicle the first one is about done and ready to be unthreaded. I won’t get hired on a NASCAR pit crew but I’m never the last one in a group airing down or airing up. So far no trophies or prizes have been handed out for being first.

But being done first means you have more time to stand around and chat which is a prize in its own right.

I can talk shit even while I’m still airing down…its one of my many skills
But the air of superiority of being done first while talking shit is inflating.

@Terrymo that is what happened to me on one of them, a couple of times. User error I suppose but it doesn’t seem to stay tight enough.

With the Trailhead Deflators, this has not happened to me.

So you can’t talk to people while your slow automatic deflators do the job? My over-sand work fine for me. I can also carry on a discussion while they are deflating.

Hello Everyone,

Anyone have experience with Automatic Tire Deflators? I’m sure you all do šŸ˜…

Any suggestions on which ones are the best? Or at least most used around the Jeep community.

Thank you.
I have used the Staun brand for years and they have remained pretty accurate after all the use I have put them thru. Just takes time to set each individual one up. But the dividend is paid back at how fast you can deflate all four tires to your set pressure.

don't you still need to stand there and monitor the pressure while they deflate, one at a time?

not sure if i could make them fit in the valve stem recess on my Mopar wheels anyway,..

get you a set of apex RPV valve stems and their push on gauge and be done with it. after having a set of RPVs i cant imagine airing down any other way.
