I bought a cheapo set off Amazon 3 years ago and they have worked flawlessly. It’s a set of 6 so I have 4 set to 18 psi and 2 set to 28 psi which is my street pressure that way if I over inflate while airing up I can pop one on and keep working.

A bunch of folks in our jeep club uses Staun's with good luck. After an exhaustive search, J.T. Brooks Automatic Tire Deflators had better reviews than Staun's. I have two sets and don't think the extra money for he Pro's is worth it. I've got all mine marked, and they're 100% repeatable. More air in the front as it's more likely to break a bead.

BTW, I've verified the pressures with a calibrated 0-30 gauge.
Again to each his own on deflators. For giggles I compared the JT's with the Staun ratings on Amazon.

JT = 4.5 stars (96 ratings) 6-32psi. $73.99. Made in USA

Staun = 4.8 stars (1855 ratings) 6-30psi. $99.98. Made in Australia

JT Pro = 4.5 stars (145 ratings) 3-32psi. $99.95. Made in USA

I was referring to reviews from this site, the JK site, and other off roading sites. Amazon reviews are easily manipulated and typically written by idiots. I'm sure the Stauns are fine, JT's are just a little better.

The JT is cheaper than the Staun. The Pro's calibration adds little value.

I appreciate your comments. So you have used both Staun and JT's and the JT's are better? Interested to understand notable differences. Obviously if they perform similarly, I'd opt for the JT's being $26 less!

Never used the Stauns, just read several dozen reviews in this forum, the JK forum and other forums. Several folks in my local club have Stauns and they're happy. The folks with ARB twin compressors pull out their hoses and brag they're getting all 4 tires at exactly the same pressure. It takes us far less effort to pull out the deflators and put them back, plus a major bonus. If you don't have bead locks, you can run rear axle several pounds lower than the front. The front, while turning, is much more likely to lose a bead.

I mark all my deflators (LF, LR, RF, RR) so I can make minor adjustments.

That's a good idea... at least fronts and rears. I have mine all set to the same but wouldn't mind going a little lower on the rears to help crawl some bigger rocks.

Ya, I think I'll drop the rear to 11, then try 10.

I maybe missed the answer in the last 8 pages but I have an ARB compressor mounted under my seat and I want a gage that I can fasten on the hose so I can read the pressure as I add air but also use it to release air. Does that exist? Sorry for the n00b questions, tired of looking like a Neanderthal using a pointy rock to let air our of my tires :blush:

Am I seriously the only psycho here that uses the back of a tire gauge to drop pressure?

I can't fathom dropping pressure being this big of a deal. I'm on 37's so maybe the peeps with 39's and 40's that big fancy deflators make sense for. ?‍♂
How long does it take you to deflate a 37 in tire from 28 or so pounds down to 10 pounds?

I am getting ready to buy these. I almost pulled the trigger on these while in Moab back in April, but did not want to tear down the tires while traveling.

I have bought these and installed them on my ATX Slab wheels. It takes eleven Mississippi's to go from 28 psi to 10 psi. Simple install. The other good thing is the tires air up faster as the the air does not go through the TPMS as the TPMS is set off to the side.

I also have the ARB version, but analog instead of digital. I didn’t want to worry about dead batteries. I like it a lot. It loses 5 PSI every 11-12 seconds on my stock rubicon wheels.
