Auto Park

Took my 2023 Wrangler Rubicon to the car wash and the guy somehow disabled the Auto Park feature. I didn't ask him to do it, but I'm not angry, I thought it was a stupid nanny feature anyhow. He doesn't speak but a few words of English, so I couldn't get him to explain how he did it. Anyone know how to disable auto Park without a Tazer ?

I installed a rigid 3" seat belt extender on the driver's seat. This fools the vehicle's nanny programming into believing the seat belt (i.e., driver) is buckled in, even when that's not the case. This has defeated the Auto Park functioning as I've required.

Go back and ask him to physically show you what he did. Have him go through whatever steps he took while you watch.

Permanent I'm sure it can be turned on again, not that I want it to Theowner of the car wash has a Rubicon I wonder if I should ask him if he taught his guys how to disable it

Not wanting to be argumentative but no way did the guy disable auto park as you think. YOU just aren't truly familiar with auto park so....

You might get some here or say a bunch on Facebook that will go along with this.... believe this, but this guy/me, knows better...

I'm in drive and opened the door I'm trying to get back to the menu that read " auto park disabled, Not an attention seeker or a wacko looking to mislead people just wondering how it's done I'll have to go back to the car wash Saturday to speak to the owner. But have a good day. ?

I do not believe you are a "wacko" or are "an attention seeker"... I just believe you are a new JL owner that is lets say clueless, in regard to auto park... No harm no foul, you will eventually figure it out.

and.... I cannot sit here and watch someone post misinformation..

By the way, when moving, if you have slight, constant pressure on the brake pedal with your foot, auto park will not kick in.

I tried no pressure on brakes opening door in drive no seat belt, same result, is the seat belt a factor?

The only way I knew how to disable auto park is a tazer which I have done. If it isn't operational I wouldn't care that's an undesirable option as is the auto off and on which is disabled with the tazer as well. But hell we are always learning something new.

First time I used it, I didn't know about it. Scared the hell out of me at first. It just reminds me again that there was a time the owners manual explained how to adjust your lifters. Now it just tells you not to drink battery acid.

This is reportedly the drill if it goes into auto-park— Brake, put in park, put in drive, belt on, press start button 2x ( no brake), when belt indicator goes off quickly disconnect & reconnect at least 3X, turn off…… Don’t know if it works, I just sprung for the $20 Seat Belt Extender Pros 3” rigid black for Wrangler, it works ?
