It appears that jeep is pumping artificial engine sounds thru the stereo. I guess this is to make the 2.0L sound like something other than a 2.0L.it's annoying as crap. Can this be turned off? Do any of the chip enhancers have a mod for this?

I discovered this by having a mat in the cargo area of my 2dr. Suddenly it starts vibrating at traffic lights. Once the engine shuts down the vibrating from the sub woofer stops. Release the brake, the engine comes to life and it kicks in again.

Suggestions welcome. Don't start on me about having a mat in the cargo area. Start on jeep about their nonsense with trying to make a 2.0L sound like something different.

I’m not sure about other manufacturers but I can stay with certainty that both Bmw and Ford also do this.

Wouldn’t doubt it, lots of 2015 and up vehicles use that technology. I’m sure you noticed the fake turn signal relay noise.

I've had my 2.0L since March, put over 11,000 miles on it, and I've never experienced any artificial engine noise that you're describing. I like to think I have a keen ear too, especially since I've been in Fords where they do this. My 2.0L is quiet as hell when the auto/stop kicks in at a light. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have the 2.0 also and it is very quiet. I do notice a slight whining when the window is down next to a jersey barrier, it must be the BDG turning.

I've never noticed this as well. Pretty quiet for the most part though the turbo has gotten louder now that I have a good amount of miles on it.

:CWL:My 2.0 sounds like what it is. A baby little 4 banger. Almost sounds like a diesel. Lol. Funny, stupid little noises.

I would take it to the dealership to have checked out as it could be a grounding issue or feedback from some other source... I would also engage Jeepcares first so then the dealership won't give you the run around...

Perhaps there is something wrong with your noise canceling system. The stereo does compensate for cabin noise as I had to delete that when upgrading my audio as it drove the new subwoofer crazy.

Think it might have been a troll post. Hasn't posted here before, and hasn't been on since that post.

my engine already sounds artificial. how can something that sounds like a slot car power a jeep. the four banger in my GTI sounds like a 67 corvette compared to this thing. I wish i could get some artificial engine noise. I love how it feels just not how it sounds.
