I have a car with Andriod Auto(not the Jeep), but for some reason it only hooks up when it feels like it. The Bluetooth is more consistent. Maybe I need a dongle.
That's bizarre.

You only need something like AAWireless if you want it wireless.

Wireless Android Auto or Wireless Apple CarPlay .... IF you do not use either or, you are missing out on something I believe!
I ran the Motorola one for awhile, then it stopped working. I think it got too hot. Not going to buy again, just using the cord. Charging is a bonus.

Neither.
Music BlueTooth (BT) to Media on UConnect 7".
Music (Pandora) auto connects to UConnect.
Maps, Phone, and Messages BT to Garmin on Dash.
Garmin maps accurate and less commercial than Google.
Phone is S23+.

(No option for "Neither" or "Other" on survey question. Hmm.)

Using wired Android Auto. For two reasons.
1) it charges my phone
2) if I don't plug it in, it will pick up my wife's phone and alert me to every damn notification she has. Plugging it in will block her phone.
Okay one more...
3) If I don't plug it in and it's just me in the Jeep, anytime I get a text, the radio will stop playing music and read aloud the notification that I have a text. If it's plugged in I still see the notification but it doesn't play it out loud and interrupt my music.

I use Wireless CarPlay with a CPlay2Air dongle, and wired it inside my dash. I also wired a relay to it so that on the rare occasions that it freeze, or when I just need CarPlay to stay off for a bit, I can cut the power without having to fully cycle the jeep(which would be inconvenient while driving).

I use a Quadlock Wireless Mount and phonecase to charge and keep my phone put. No amount of rock crawling will budge it.

I hate the cable. Do they make a wireless charger that mounts and acts as a wireless interface? I put a wireless radio in my old Jeep and bough the wireless charger, love it. No cables to mess with.

They do make wireless chargers, but the wireless connection by the phone is separate to the phone.

I have wireless auto connect in my old jeep, then bough a wireless charger that I leave plugged in all the time, just drop my phone on charger and it boots up automatically, very cool!.

i almost always plug in the phone; everything works better and audio from the phone *sounds* better over the wire.

I plug my phone in.
Wireless sound quality and volume is really lacking.

I used both, but prefer wired. Your really missing out if you're not using Fermata auto with Android Auto. I can screen share and play movies with VLC or play youtube vids directly on the screen. Great for the trips with the family.

I’ve always used wired since the audio from Spotify sounded better. Curious what the sound is like with the 24’s since those now have wireless

@KrzybonesJLU

On my 2018 JL, I see little if any sound degradation with Spotify when I run wireless in comparison to running tethered.

What wireless dongle did you use... CarPlay of Android Auto. What smartphone?

I use an old iPhone 6s for music only. The battery barely lasts a day or so with use, so connecting via USB is a no brainer for me. I use it because I have a convoluted setup for still using iTunes to manage my music. I know, I'm a tech head and it seems contradictory to keep using "older" products and interfaces ?
