You will need to change the power cable running to the battery. 10awg is not enough the compressor has a maximum draw of 60amps on a 12volt installation. Meaning you need 6awg or at least 8awg ( this one is 40amps rated) just like the maxi fuse 40amp.

I have two 10awg power cables. Each has a 40amp fuse. So not sure what you mean.

See post #48

Also, the following shows 30amps over 10awg is good for 16.5 feet and I think I am running 14 feet.

Thread revival.

@Jeep Generation saw your video last night! Looks good! Wanna do mine?? Lol

@Jeep Generation @TroyBoy Do I need to wire the ignition wire if I am running the power to the aux switches? Is that only if I were to use ARB's provided switch? Thanks!
Thanks! If you want to use your factory AUX switch or a sPod or Trigger System, you can run that ignition wire directly to the AUX switch instead of using the ARB switch. The purple wire.

Thanks Kevin! I actually overthought it in thinking whether I needed to use the red-yellow wire, but realized I don't because that's tied to ARB's rocker switch which I'm not using. Thanks for the help!

I just ordered the ARB twin and the ARB underseat mount for my 2dr JLR. I think I can use what you've done as a guide and I think your video (if you did the one I saw. about 49 minutes) good video BTW. I'd like to use the switch provided in the ARB mount and wire to the ignition wire noted in your video that is along side the kick panel. (I'm guessing the same wire shows up on the passenger side as well) I don't have a reason not to use the AUX switches, except that the ARB bracket has the switch in such a handy location and the T Tap connector is probably easier than splicing into an AUX switch. As I see your guidance, I should be able to pretty much copy your example?? Do you see anything I've not thought of??

Many thanks for your help on what you've shown.

Yes. The dual ARB runs a max load of about 34.3 amps per red wire. If you are okay with a 5% voltage drop then you can get away with 17.5 feet of 10awg wire which is all you should need. Also, 34.3 amps is max load and normal working load is more like 25 amps.

You could run 8awg if you want less voltage drop but I haven't had any issues with 10awg.

you know I used this chart a long time ago and this time I read the notes at the bottom to make me wonder if I should have went 8 guage after all? The wires don’t seem to be heating up. Here is the note I read from the web page that makes me wonder:

NOTES:
A) This is for a ONE WAY wire with the ground assumed to be the car chassis. If 2 wires needed to complete the circuit calculate for the total length of wire used for both legs.

Bringing this thread back from the dead.

I'm looking to use the MORE mount but was wondering if there is any rattling? One of the reviews on Quadratec mentions that so just wanted to bring it up.

The videos don't seem to work anymore so just want to confirm this is a basic install. I plan to use the provided switch so, will there just be one wire to run all the way up to the battery?

I've had mine installed for a few years and it has been rattle free.

If you are installing the dual ARB, it has two power and two ground wires (one for each compressor). I ran each pair up to the battery. Each compressor can pull up to 34amps under max load so choose wiring accordingly. I also ran an 18agw wire up for the aux switch I use to control it.

Sorry I'm very new to this, can you explain what you mean by choose the wiring accordingly. Do I need to get more wires or don't I just run the two sets of wires (one for each compressor) to the battery and ground and that's it? Note, I'm still waiting for the compressor to arrive so maybe this'll make more sense when I open it up and see what's in the box

Since I don't plan to use my aux switches and just use the switch provided this doesn't apply to me right?

I meant the gauge of the wires based on the distance to the battery. Depending on the distance determines that gauge wire you need to run. I think I ran 12-14 ft 10 awg but that is at the edge of spec depending on the wire chart you have. I've had no issues and many others haven't either. With that said, I'm not an electrician and my electrical knowledge is amateur at best.

I ran that 18awg wire up for my aux switch. I didn't wire the switch on the bracket so you'll have to look at the wiring diagram and there are plenty of video's on youtube of people wiring it.
