Most likely, no. From everything I can tell, this is an issue with unconnect. Android, iPhone, usb type, OS version, etc donā€™t seem to have much (if any) bearing on the issue. Unless a unconnect update is released to resolve it, odds are we have to live with it.

Iā€™ve got it too on my 2020 7ā€™ the dealer changed my radio I told them itā€™s a software issue no cure Iā€™ve changed cords and ports and phones and the worst part is itā€™s hard for the dealer to even get it to do it to justify the labor

Iā€™ve been having the issue on my 18 JLU since beginning of 2019. Dealer couldn't replicate so it was never fixed. Figured Iā€™d try to look at firmwares to help narrow down the possibilities, Iā€™m currently running 1848.24

This was the challenge I ran into as well, it's very difficult to get this issue to trigger when you want it to, aka, at the dealership. Just curious, did them replacing the radio resolve the issue for you? I agree, this appears to be software not hardware, but if it DID resolve the issue for you, curious if it's a different firmware version than the rest of us have that resolved it.

Really interested to see if there is a fix. I have tried both USB type C and USB type A and both do the flickering. Also I am on Android.

Hey Allison, to be honest it is really hard to get that on video. I am not sure how I would even begin to explain that to my dealer.

I understand. Please send us a private message. I would like to get you over to a Uconnect specialist.

Havenā€™t seen anyone show an example for those that donā€™t know what we are talking about, so I held my phone & took some video. It is so random. I have a 20 JL 2 door with 7ā€ and am using car play. I ā€œthinkā€ it only occurs when CarPlay or Android Auto are in use - but havenā€™t confirmed it. Iā€™ll leave mine disconnected for a while and observe.

it doesnā€™t make any sound or interrupt whatever audio source is playing. I had FM on and Google navigation when the flicker occurred in the linked video.
Doesnā€™t do anything bad as far as I can tell. Just funny that these weird blips/flickers/glitches occur from time to time.
