I've searched the forums and not seeing anything on this yet--some months ago, I noticed that when using Apple Carplay, the screen occasionally twitches. Not sure how else to describe it, almost like a quick spasm then works normally for awhile. The audio doesn't cut out, it doesn't hurt anything, just obnoxious and looks awful when it happens. I've tried replacing the usb cable. It only happens using carplay, so I doubt it's the 7" unconnect unit itself. I starting noticing it after the dealership updated the firmware on the jeep headunit, although it could be coincidence. Still, all signs points to a software issue rather than hardware, so either iOS or uConnect. Only thing I haven't tried is replicating the behavior with an android device. Anyone else seen behavior like this?

Yep - 2020 JL 2 door Willys with the 7ā€ unit. I work in I.T. and haveā€™t seen anything like it either. Itā€™s like an angled flicker - like the screen swipes super fast from one corner to another. I keep meaning to try to catch it on video, but that would involve mounting a go-pro focused on it and hoping I catch it because it is so random. If I ever do, Iā€™ll come back here and post it.

So it's not just me! I work in IT as well lol so it's frustrating to not know the cause of the issue. How you describe it is exactly right and it's very difficult to catch on video. I have the latest firmware from uConnect installed and the latest iOS. Is this an iPhone for you or Android? If you have Android, that at least rules out the possibility of it being an iOS-only issue

IOS as well. Iā€™ll try to identify all the factors that are at play the next few times I catch it happening.

Awesome, appreciate it and nice it isn't just me. Still, I'd like to narrow this down to an iOS issue or Jeep issue. If it's iOS, nothing to be done. If it's Jeep, like to get it fixed while it's still under warranty. A new Jeep shouldnt be having screen spasms like this with CarPlay. Let me know if you find anything out and ill do the same!

Iā€™m also having this issue. The other thing mine is doing is when a song first starts there is like a crackle pop sound and then the song plays fine. Itā€™s driving crazy.

There are all sort of problems with Apple CarPlay or the Uconnect system overall.

Happens to me too. Glad I'm not the only one. Hopefully they get it figured out.

Question for everyone: how is your phone connected to the Jeep. Are you using the usb c port or the old-school USB port underneath the usb or inside the center console?

I have a theory, which is why I asked who is using the USB C port. The issue may lay with USB C. I switched back to the oldschool USB/Lightning cable for my iphone. could be a coincidence, but drove around town about 30 minutes with no flickering. I'll be driving about 5 hours tomorrow, so I'll keep an eye on it. Can anyone else confirm this theory? If most of you are using USB C that are experiencing this problem, that could be all it is!

I use the USB port in the center console and it does it to me using my Android Device.
