Apple carplay vanished

I searched for a while and I know I have seen posts on this but I'll be darned if I can find them with this search engine.
I have a new 2024 rubicon x with all the techy stuff. I love this jeep. BUT today I experniced a very confusing situation.

I had to go run an errand got in and everything started fine. Got back unload the stuff from my errand and went to go to work. when I started it I didn't have a blue tooth connection nor a cable connection and Apple CarPlay was simply gone from the screen. Adroin was greyed out under the apps But apple CarPlay was gone not in the apps and not on the sidebar of the screen. I updated my jeep log in data, uninstalled my phone and re-installed it but apple car play is still mostly gone. There are no icons to push IT says I have audio form the phone and it will play audiobooks from the phone but still no audio.
Anyone have any idea what to do? Am I missing something is using blue tooth and Carplay a cost subscription?

We’ve got a MY24 Rubicon X. Have frequent issue with CarPlay. Reboot the radio, hold the press and hold volume/power button down on the radio until it restarts, about 15 seconds. The radio will reboot, see if your phone connects and shows CarPlay again.

if that doesn’t work you can do a factory reset on the radio. It’s in the settings in the radio menu. The factory reset will take about 20 minutes or so and then you have to setup all your settings and phone connection again. its a pain but it did clear up almost all of our issues.

This was happening to me somewhat frequently last year. I don’t know why but the problem stopped. I never discovered the fix and instead just used Uconnect thinking I would get it looked at by the dealer but I never did. Thanks for the fix - I’ll keep it mind in case it starts happening again.
