I see that the Tazer JL can allow a front camera to be enabled. Has anyone purchased a front camera and mounted it? Where and how did you mount the camera? Where did you get the camera and how does it get hooked up to the LCD screen?

Thanks in advance.

Bob
Here's some footage for the one I installed on my jeep... I also attached some instructions for reference...

Not sure if Joe, at ZAutomotive is going to appreciate me leaking this... but ... I've heard ....in the next few days, he is going to be offering / selling a complete front camera kit for the JL. DO be on the lookout for it.

I think the 2020 wrangler is going to have that front camera option like the 2020 gladiator so maybe that might be easy to adapt as well.

Looks awesome, but it is missing the most important thing!

That camera needs to be in night vision!

It does have night vision but remember at night the head, fog, running, or off road lights will flush out the image. So in many cases the night vision isn't a factor unless you want to drive with no lights on while blazing a trail in which case could be fun until...

Interesting the description says the uconnect will not support any resolution cargo cam more than 480 vertical lines of resolution- which is standard definition. Wonder what it is that causes the limitation......
@Akbill

Per Joe.... "Cargo camera input is not a Hi-Definition input like the backup camera; so the video quality will not be as good! This is a high quality standard definition (480i) camera. "There is no way to add a high-definition cargo camera input to the JL radio."

Correct, was wondering what it is in the Uconnect system that prevents high def on the cargo channel. The rear camera looks to be hi def. But standard def should be adequate for up close views of what is right in front of the vehicle. I ordered it so I don't have to stop and check the trail so often when going downhill.

@Akbill

Especially if you off road, the few $ that the camera kit costs and the minimal install effort... well, if it prevents you from doing underside damage.... cause.... you saw it coming, lets say.... even seeing in standard view is far better then not seeing at all..... anyway, $ well spent ..

anyone mounted one of these so that you can actually see where the tires touch the trail?
