Installing a z automotive front camera

I have been installing a front camera on our new 2021 rubicon. Following the instructions on there instillation pages it says to use pin placement of 24 and 25. This is not correct. You will loose the factory back up camera and the front cargo camera won’t work. Have been texting with someone from z automotive and the person finally Texed oh I missed you have a 2021 you need to use 21 and 22 pin spots. So FYI if you plan on installing one.

Thanks for the heads up. I am going back and forth on just ordering the yellow plug that goes into 21 and 22 and then ordering a camera off of Amazon. In the one of the youtube videos a guy used a cheap camera and seemed to think it was a better picture...

Anything has to be better than that. That's my wonderful Z camera.

I did the Amazon cheap camera and the z auto adapter. Pretty happy. No camera is going to look great because it is not HD for the front. Only the rear.

thanks. I already found and installed an Amazon cigarette lighter loom for my cb that I can easily tap into so I may just go with their yellow video cord.

following along. I am pretty sure the instructions said that 2020 and up models used 2 pins and 19 and older used 2 other pin sets. waiting to get a tazer to do this mod. i doubt jscan will enable this will it

That camera is simply out of focus. You should be able to a easily achieve sharp focus by simply rotating the front lens on the camera until you’ve achieved focus on your preferred distance.

Just saw the video. The $180 price looks like a good deal for what it is. But I am honestly shocked with the amount of disassembly that is required to do anything to these Jeeps.

At this point, the only thing holding me back from ordering this camera is the willingness to take apart half the interior just to plug in the wiring harness behind the head unit.

My JL does not have one single rattle inside and I want to keep it that way.
