I understand, but I wouldn't start another 'hate the PentaStar' thread. these are HIGHLY regarded and tested motors. They've been on the top ten motors of all time several times this decade with automotive world/wards/others and they've produced 10M of them.

No one can say the PentaStar is a 'bad' motor.

If you don't like how it sounds in a sparsely insulated vehicle like a Jeep Wrangler then it is what it is.

Like others have said these vehicles don't have massive sound deadening etc so it can be offsetting.

Just drive it another few years and trade it when you approach the end of the warranty. If you think the pentastar is noisy, the 2.0l will redefine what real noise is like.
Oh I know how the turbo sounds, it's like a tractor but that is because it is a direct injected turbo.

Look it was a rage post, I was worried about the oil pressure for several weeks now and yesterday when I started the engine to go to work I got 20 seconds of loud lifter tick and it was the straw that broke the camel's back. I've been under a ton of stress lately due to other things, I just want one little peace of mind. Like I said if someone on here also sees the same 26 psi oil pressure then I'm fine.

It's nothing that hasn't been discussed prior.. rest easy knowing your 3.6 will last longer than 50% of the other 'american' v6's even though it sounds like a tractor lol

Thank you, I just want to know if other people experience the same thing. And no it wasn't fair for me to say that Mexico makes crap, just been my experience with other stuff made from Mexico and China have not been the best quality, I apologize for that. Stress makes me rage.

It's not you yes this has been discussed. and AS discussed Mexico has made some of the best engines and parts, we've seen in over a decade.

If you really believe in America bring that home.. HOWEVER you will need to bring unions back home and a real pride in American made things. Will that happen???

To be honest I really don't know what to believe. I've had trouble even thinking straight for the past few years. Ever since I was diagnosed with cancer and internal bleeding I developed an extreme case of bad paranoia and stress. My hot water tank then blew up flooding my kitchen and my roof got damaged from leaks, I kind of look at my jeep as the last good thing I own and when it acts up it sends me over the edge.

Well a brand new engine in a $40,000 vehicle should fire up and pur like a kitten, not knock like a jehovah witness.
The 3.6 in my Mojave (non-eTorque) ran perfectly, but I hated it due to the lack of power at altitude. Solved that problem with a 2.0T JLUWXR.

I don't think I will ever own another Jeep product with the 3.6. And to those saying it's reliable long-term: I can't think of anything worse than a underpowered engine with anemic low-end torque that lasts forever ?

I have coworkers who will only own porsche or BMW because the dealers bend over for them and do all of the work needed on the vehicles. The fact that a dodge/fca vehicles are approaching those prices is kind of hard to swallow (so to speak) but yeah.. welcome to the new world.
Porsche might be better known for their 911 and other performance cars, but they have built a solid reputation for reliability with their customers too. So, I can see people that can afford them being attracted. BMW pretty much the same story.

But with both of these makers, their entry level might be down around the upper end of FCA stuff (not including the hellcat/demon stuff), but the options quickly drive most of their cars well above the bottom level optioned cars. A lot of my neighbors are German car owners. I'm still a Detroit iron kinda guy. But I almost bought a 911 7-8 years ago. By the time I was able to buy one, I wasn't as interested.
