Damn, that is not fun! On the highway tonight and hit a bridge transition at around 70mph and man, the party started, tight traffic on 95 in Philly in the fast lane, not for the faint of heart, and I was extremely happy that I was solo. So whats the up to date general consensus? Ball Joints?

My details, 2021 Sahara Diesel, stock suspension, 42k miles, original tires. I am due soon for tires, was gonna try to make it to spring time. But thinking I may move that up. Due for rotation and think I will do that this week and check out my suspension components while doing that. Like to get some input from folks that have already dealt with this.

Also thinking of swapping out the steering stabilizer, figure it cant hurt. Any recommendations for a decent one?

One last request for input, I am still under warranty, is it worth taking it to the dealer? Any chance of a resolution or will I just be spinning my wheels (Not sure if that is even a pun). I am not a dealer fan by any means, but if there may be a deeper issue, steering box or something, maybe I should start there. On the other hand, if new tires, steering stabilizer and ball joints if there is play there, I'd almost rather just spend a few bucks and do it myself.

I would really like to hear some input, and I know there is a ton of threads, but this is my thread. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

First place I’d look is the track bar….. my buddy just went through the same thing a while back….. I gave him my old RK track bar, that I rebuilt, and a fox steering stabilizer….. In his case that fixed it….. the play in the track bar bushing was very slight, but when we took it out , you could wiggle the bushing around with your fingers…..He also went ahead and did his ball joints the following weekend as a preemptive measure against the inevitable……

Take it to a dealer tell them what happened see if they come up with a fix then bring up warranty my neighbor got his repair you could grad track bar and fill the play in it

Installing these two items solved my issue. (after getting the caster to 6 degrees w/ front Control Arms). Castor likely won't matter if you are not lifted.

Steer Smarts Yeti XD Sector Shaft Brace with Frame Side Track Bar Reinforcement Bracket

*this is the best mod I've done to the Jeep. Completely tightened up my steering.

FOX Performance Series 2.0 TS Steering Stabilizer

*If not going Fox, just make sure your new Steering Stabilizer is a "Through Shaft" design.

Update: Today I rotated the tires and gave my front end components a once over while I had the tires off and up in the air, checked out the ball joints and checked torque, everything looked pretty solid. If anything I may have found a little play in the track bar, threw a wrench on everything just to be sure, and I put on a Fox steering damper, the OEM did seem a little sus, but figure it's oem and it may just be like that. Took her out for a quick ride and it was much tighter, I assume mostly due to the Fox Damper, see how she acts when I get it out on the highways for some distance. I am also due for tires soon, so I will be tackling that in the next couple of months, new tires and some high speed balancing, i'm sure that won't hurt. But, I was kinda glad to see that all the obvious stuff was solid. We shall see! Thanks for everyone's input.
