When I was younger yes , now no. Life lessons taught me that nobody cares, nobody cares at resale, nobody cares at trade-in.
I make a really easy log in my phone notes. Delete and repeat as needed.
Albeit I don’t care much about resale, I will say that if I personally were buying a used vehicle from an owner I’d go with the one that kept records of everything. Would make me feel better anyways. I doubt a person that’s as organized and orderly as that would be the one beating the hell out of their vehicle. But ya never know haha

Does or has anyone else created a maintenance log/record and file their paperwork after services are performed?

Maybe I’m crazy but I also filed all of my initial purchase paperwork to include my original temp tag and window sticker...

Am I anal retentive?

You don’t keep the paperwork so I’m guessing you oppose anyways lol
Ha ha. I DO actually keep all the paperwork but I don’t do much beyond that. I figure if I have a record of what’s done I’m good. At one time I was more anal about keeping records but finally figured out it just stressed me out, so I relented a bit. Detailed receipts are enough for me.

More people should do this, not mock it or consider it the makings/beginnings of some mental health pathology.

As one of your most expensive assets, subject to the necessary fixes that wear, tear, and time take on it, where fixes aren't always the proper remedy, and/or done correctly, documentation is important, not odd.

I'm not that organized, but I do keep all my receipts in folders. I kept detailed notes of when my then week-old Jeep was in the shop and have everything filed away. I also keep the window sticker, etc.

Makes sense man, yeah right now I’d go crazy if I lost it. It’s like you become somewhat obsessed. That’s why I keep it in the Rig. If I had it in my house and it got lost I’d probably flip. Which I believe would be all stress related. In a way I e created my own stress haha or maybe it’s stress relief? I don’t know lol

Ha I was just thinking about this whether it’s a stress inducing or relieving thing.

All I know is that it makes me feel good when I have it all in order and available. But not sure what would happen if I lost it all. Lolol

It's work, but work whose time and effort pays off for you in the relief that comes in organizing and getting some sense of control in an otherwise chaotic word with screwup people galore, for which such documentation sometimes proves necessary.

Carry on soilder! It's just a good idea, which by the way is the perfect defense for any self-inflicted our outside claim of OCD like behavior.

When the commercial pilot comes outside the vessel to inspect the tires, his/her job BTW, is that anal or have such protocols arisen because history has shown they make sense.

It's the latter of course.

Probably depends on make model but detailed records, binders or notes definitely has netted me more money. It would be tough to sell some cars without freaky detailed records. It's a lot more important in the enthusiast car world. Not to say the Wrangler is not a enthusiast car/truck. It definitely is, if not the top, by volume. The Wrangler crew is just more forgiving. lol.
