Hi, all.
As I know, tires airing down is helpful to drive on sand, mud or snow road.
I'm running BF KO2 35/12.5r/17 tires with 17inches stock wheels. (+spacer)
(Actually, In my country, my current wheels are JT stock wheels. But I think its specification is not different with JL stocks.) (17x7.5j +44mm offset)

Anyone could recommand minimum pressure that I can airing down my tire on off-road?
Can I air down under 15psi?
Why I'm asking is, I'm worry about stock wheels are too narrow for 35/12.5 tires to air down.

Have I need to change my wheels to more wide aftermarket wheels?

Thanks.

On my 2021 Willy's with stock rims and 35" KO2 tires, I regularly aired down to 12-13psi. Never lost a bead. If I did, that's what the spare is for.

The ride different between 15psi and 12psi on the KO2 was night and day. My buddy is running 33" KO2 on non beadlock rims and does the same.

You should be on an 8.5" wide wheel or more. If you're going to be on that terrain often, just get real beadlocks and not worry.

On stock wheels and 33’s I went down to 15psi regularly and only burped air once in a rock garden. If you’re in sand, you shouldn’t have a problem going down to 10psi on the factory setup.

With wide tires on narrow factory wheels, you have what I like to refer to as a “poor-man’s beadlock.” You have extra pressure on the bead just because the tire is a little wider than recommended for that wheel so you could probably experiment with 10-12psi in different terrain,

I would be hesitant to go lower for more technical rock crawling, and on the same size KO2’s, I’ve only ever gone down to 8psi with my Method 704 Beadgrip wheels. Those tires are so pliable below 10psi it’s insane… only did it to try it out, and give myself the best chance possible of not getting stuck in some nasty northern Michigan mud.

I usually air my 35s (KO2 6ply) down to 16 but have been down to 12 a couple of times. Not problem. Agree with Philly_ about the poor-man's beadlock. May pop the bead below 12 with 8.5s.

I’ve never aired down low enough to lose a bead, but I have used starter fluid to set a bead in my driveway. It should be possible to just jack up the wheel and make little explosion if you go too low.

Agree. The narrower wheels are to his benefit here -- they make it safer to air down than wider wheels. Try 12 PSI and go from there.
