Just curious what others are running for air pressure on road with 37s.

I did the chalk method and I'm down to 26 pounds front and rear. This is my first time doing the pressure this way, so curious what others are running.
My tires are
General Grabber X3 37/12.50R17 on method 105 beadlocks.

I have been running 26-27 and the tires ride and wear great so far.

Yea, the low temps we have been getting here lately are causing some concern with tires at 22 when i start out, but warm up quickly to 26.

I am monitoring the tread and handling and so far I am very happy at 26.

26? Wow!

I ride on the road at 38 psi.
Hi Brew211,
When I did some research on the chalk method for figuring out tire pressure, I discovered that the higher psi:s with the bigger off-road tires lead to the middle of the tire wearing out and the outside not wearing much.
You might want to give it a try and see if yours are wearing out unevenly.

Chalk test and PSI range from cold to warmed up should put you close.
Tires shouldn't heat up more than about 10% when warmed up. More than that and you might be a little under inflated. MT's heat up slightly more.

At 0 deg leaving for work i'm at 28psi. 20 mins of driving at 40-65mph I get to work and psi is at 31-32.
Leave work with temp at 20 deg/30 psi. 20 minute drive home and tires are at 33 psi. I like to keep my warm PSI in the 32 range.

Nitrogen in the tires (as the racing drivers do) will keep psi constant. I run Nitrogen in my Harley tires so the handling doesn't change with temp.

Here is a handy guide: https://www.4wheelparts.com/a/tire-wheel-package-guide-tire-pressure-checker

I ran 28 in mine. As @Carlton says earlier. Between 28-32 is pretty standard.

If your tire is a e rated tire, as in, it’s designed to be on a 3/4 ton truck then that’s not a crazy low psi.
The chalk test is great because it’s an analog way to find out what you are putting on your tires.
Experience has always put me between 28 and 32 on a 15-17 inch rim for daily driving on an e rated tire.
That said, every manufacturer is different and sometimes old school trial and error is the best way to go about it.

A good start is 28psi, but still depend on how much weight your car has.
