aFe Momentum HD intake problem

I’ve been very happy with the intake and filter, but after about 1 month of use I noticed the flexible rubber flange at the top has collapsed. I found it flattened out across the intake face, effectively blocking a significant amount of air flow.

I have removed it for now and contacted aFe for recommendations hoping they have already designed a replacement for that failed design.

Unfortunately I’ve yet to get a reply.

Does anyone have direct contact information for a helpful body at aFe?

There’s a couple threads about this, I saw one guy used a heavy wire hanger or something to create a frame for it that kept it in the original shape. Said it worked perfectly. I’d try that.

Same thing happened to my RR AMFIB snorkel. Some dude made up 3D printed pieces and posted the link to the file.

If you know someone with a 3D printer, they could come up with something to brace it.

The RR ones now come with metal braces in the ends. I heard if you email them they will send them to you. If you still have it. I ordered mine late last year and it came with them.

Ya, I heard that. I have the 3d printed ones and they're holding up great.

aFe responded that R&D is working on a solution. Just waiting on the fix.

If you’ve had it for a month and it’s failed, I’d return it. R&R will make a solution if people don’t buy it.
