So I have the Tereflex 2.5 spacer kit with shock extensions ordered for the JLUR that I just put 315/70 tires on (8.5” rims)
My question is, at what point do you need a adjustable track bar?

I ended up scrambling to locate decent ones locally the moment my Jeep touched the ground after the new lift. I wasn't planning on it.

I don't look at other peoples rides to see if they are even but it was obvious on mine after a Mopar lift.

In other words, just buy one and install all at once?

At 2.5” of lift your axle will shift to drivers side a 1/2”. If that bothers you, then you need one ….

Some need it and some don’t, I wonder if what model you have makes a difference?
Like Sport or Sahara vs Rubicon?

It's Geometry.........depends on your lift height and/or control arm lengths.

Measure........If your axle is not centered under your vehicle, than you need one.

I think it depends on how off center your axle is and how acute your OCD is. Some people don't mind (or even notice ) if one side is sticking out 1/2" more than the other side while some (like me) can't rest until that's reduced to at least 1/16" - 1/8" max through the use of an adjustable track bar.

My Sport with Mopar lift gained about 3.75” of lift. The axles were noticeably shifted front and rear. Although it drove fine you will see a difference with aftermarket TBs with heavier/wider tire setup. After installing both front and rear aftermarket TBs mine felt much more planted and stable. Of course an upgraded steering stabilizer also assisted with heavy tire setup ??

Any increase in ride height on all models will cause the front axle to shift further towards the driver side and the rear axle towards the passenger side. You can clearly see that shift on the red Jeep above, and I'm on my phone not a larger computer or television screen.

Along with axle shift, the shocks, coils, and sway links will be leaning vs vertical.

If you have any thought of eventually going with a suspension kit down the road, I'd suggest starting with a pair of track bars from the company you'd want a lift from.

Another thing worth mentioning, is that adjustability isn't the only benefit of aftermarket track bars, control arms, and steering linkages. They also have much better bushings and are much stronger in construction. Those help to maximize longevity and improved ride and handling, especially when dealing with the increased leverage forces that come with taller tires and lift height. That goes for both on and off road use.

At 2.5" it's gonna drive different and your axle will be off centered. The need for an adjustable track bar will be based on your tolerance for these changes. I have a TF ST1 spacer lift and ended up adding an adjustable track bar within two weeks of installing the lift. Steering became very loose and it pulled to the right, but adding the track bar made a huge difference and I love how it drives now.

I highly recommend getting the track bar done up front, or better yet, ditch the spacer lift and get a proper lift kit if you're moving up 2.5"

It’s needed. You can see the misalignment of David’s axles pretty clearly above.
