Well, bought a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 brand new in 2009 and paid additional money to have the lifetime warranty bumper to bumper. Fast forward to June 07 of this year the engine dropped a valve after 325,000 miles. They ordered and installed a new crate engine from Chrysler under warranty, they also repaired left front axle, right bearing hub, A/C condenser and compressor. The only issue is it wouldn't shift through the gears. So they replaced the solenoid packs, valve body train, sensors and a host of other things. They spent a total of 18,000 in total but couldn't get the truck to shift. I spoke with a mechanic friend of mine that said it was a pinched wire and recommended to the service advisor that it was a pinched wire but was told that their mechanics were trained technicians. Okay, so they bought me out for 6000 thousand and I keep the vehicle. Picked up my truck on November 02, I then Drove to my friends shop raised the vehicle and in less than 20 seconds (no exaggeration) he sees a wire connecting the input sensor was broken at the connector. He disassembled the connector and reinstalled with a new wire and then told me take it for a ride. I couldn't believe it!! The truck rides and shift perfectly! Total time was 20 minutes for the repair. That means that I suffered through the entire summer driving a PT cruiser with no AC has a work vehicle. Now I have a descent vehicle with a new engine, updated transmission and rear which was replaced about 50,000 miles ago with now new parts, new ac + 6,000 in cash.
