5w20 vs 0w20

0w-40 is out there for sure. I use 5w-20 since I changed the oil at 1000 on the clock. Will continue to use this. I know the 3.8 in the JK worked best at 5w-30, but that is a different engine. The anecdote for the 3.8 being the 5w-30 was not what the "manual" called for in that engine either, but ran much better with the increased weight.

I always read these oil threads and it always comes down to these 2 weights. After operating temp, your oil is the same at 20. The ESS doesn't happen until the engine is warmed up as well, or at least mine doesn't, so the lower 0w or 5w doesn't come into play.
