And what about kids?

Nobody told us what to do with them…
Before kids, when I was 18 I could have used a printed manual for the gf - might have one or two fewer kids :)

It’s baffling the indignation some feel about a fellow Jeep owner wanting a printed manual.
Why is it baffling? Some attitudes hold manufacturers back, and delay progress. It is the same thing with people in NJ not letting you pump your own gas, or people insisting on hard copy paper bills in the mail. It does not only affect them, it affects all of us, it perpetuates archaic ways of doing business.

In most other countries in the world people get and pay all their bills from their phones, credit cards never leave the wallet or are even carried, since watches and phones tap and pay everywhere.

Printing 600 pages that are rarely if ever used by the majority of owners is wasteful. By promoting an electronic copy on the infotainment and on the phone (available off line), Jeep would be promoting more people to actually consult the manual.

It is sad how backwards America is these days when it comes to technology adoption.

Whoa whoa whoa ....Don't you dare try and besmirch my love of still having a gas attendant in my Garden State. 🙃
One of the greatest things is pulling up and rolling down the window giving the attendant my card/cash on a either a hot, rainy, freezing day.
The gas companies would LOVE to make even more money by eliminating that job.
Lowe's now has no cashiers, we are doing the work for them checking out so they make more money and kill more jobs for the sake of profit.
I'm sure Jeep could get rid of a few vice presidents or regional managers positions if they want to cut corners.
People do deserve a paper manual ...it's a good thing to read while getting your gas tank filled.👍

The two Lowe's stores in this area do have staffed cashier lanes, in addition to the small adjacent area where four self-checkout kiosks are bundled. The same is true at the local Home Depot stores, and the various grocery stores that I've visited.

The employees who are stationed in the self-checkout areas are always willing to assist the customer who is having difficulty, up to and including completing the item scans themselves.

The Holmdel Lowes does have someone watching the self checkout...seems weird to pay someone to watch for theft at the self checkout when a actual cashier could ring you up properly.
Having that two minute chat at the register with the cashier is going to be something the next generation of consumers will know nothing about. 🙁

I love the searchable PDF version and did receive the paper version with my 23. I have it under the drivers seat for kindling in case we get stuck offroad with a group in the snow and some sort of Donner Party situation arises.
So if someone sees you tearing up your manual after hearing you complain you're hungry they should start slowing backing away and get the hell out of there?🍗

Way back in 2018, ours came with an owner’s manual….. a 594 page behemoth that could easily double as a wheel chock……🤣….. back then they only came in black and white….😂

They didn't "come" with your Jeep. You can buy them obviously if the online version for free irks you.
Love that Beagle.

I know you are posting in jest....but....

Human beings are too valuable. We should all be ashamed to have a human being doing something as menial as pumping gas or scanning items on a checkout line. We should reserve human beings for doing jobs that require the human uniqueness and specialness.

The Lowes employees should be helping customer with expertise recommending a unique tool or material. The gas attendant should be helping customers by performing courtesy safety inspections of their tires, and brakes, insuring that trailers are safely attached to hitches, helping with minor diagnostics (scan tools) and minor repairs like batteries, brakes, wiper blades, etc.

And no one should be grinding trees into pulp and chemicals into ink to print anything on paper anymore.

Diginity is present in all types of work. We can't all code, be lawyers or doctors.

I was actually serious about both jobs. Good old fashioned gas attendants back in the day would wash your windows (front and back) with a squeegee and pop your hood and check your oil and add a quart if needed.
And a cashier is the link and personality of the store....good thing there is still a few good old hardware stores near me where they still have a cashier to shoot the breeze with.
They are also jobs that are suited well for people to have a couple of extra bucks in their pocket, be it retirees or young first time jobs. Saying we should be ashamed for having such jobs is really demeaning to anyone who ever held such a job.
I'll always side with people over profit.
You're smart enough to know that Jeep isn't including manuals because they want to save the trees. ✌🗽
