My '21 wrangler 4xe that started a few hours prior wont start now. Searched around but "wont start" is too broad of a phrase 😅

JScan says battery is at 14.2v, no codes, panel has normal "press brake and hit start button" message but nothing happens.

Replaced key fob battery a while ago so think that's unlikely. Remote start double tap on the fob results in one flash of the blinkers but no attempt to start - no clicks or anything.

My best guess is aux battery but curious if other people have run into this.

Maybe try moving the shifter? Could be thinking it's not fully in park?

Disconnect negative terminal and try again. The scanner should have some codes if its an actual no start with a 4xe

Yeah, in this case it seems like it's not even trying to start. I'll have to try that and a different fob later today since it's parked a few miles from me.

Hopefully this isn't the case but my 4xe did that when it was a few days old. It had to be towed to the dealership where they had to wait for a pin number from the mother ship to reset the system. After the reset it worked fine. One reason why I would never take a 4xe off-road out of the range of a tow truck.

Kicking myself for not disconnecting/reconnecting the battery last night at 1am, but then again I didn't have a wrench on me. With no codes and no other indicators I figured that would be a waste of time!

Started right up after disconnecting/reconnecting the negative.

For reference if anyone sees this post in the future, he's referencing a contactor welded shut DTC. They removed our ability to reset welded contactor DTCs as it's a massive safety issue. Star allows the contactors to be reset once before outright replacing the battery pack. A welded shut contactor means the battery cant ever power down, meaning the 400v system is always live.

Thanks for the info. Is it something that I should be concerned about?

Nope, if it happens again you'll just get a new battery pack. It's mainly a safety issue for the technician, as the HV system shouldn't be opened during normal vehicle operation anyway. Could technically be an issue in a crash, though?
