I believe that globally sourced parts are the problem. I also believe the tappet problem in the 3.6L is a material deficiency not an oil lubrication problem.

Sir - the blocks are made in America by American people in an American factory fucking up in an American way. The blocks also come out of the same factory, there’s no difference between 4xe and Gasoline.
The engine blocks are produced in Indiana, primarily at Stellantis’ Kokomo Casting / Kokomo Engine complex.

We are just being misled by Stellantis bullsh** as usual.

Generalizing and saying globalized parts are crap is confirmation bias. There are plenty of global parts with good quality, and plenty with bad. Similarly there’s plenty of good parts from the US, and plenty of bad ones.

More likely the reason for the consistent quality issues at Stellantis are bad corporate management & greed, leading to unhappy or untrained employees (as well as a lack thereof), leading to flaws in the manufacturing processes.

If you were a recent mechanical engineering graduate out of a top US university, and your dream was to work in automotive, your last resort would be Stellantis. You’d go work anywhere before you went there. I think you’d even give up on your dream before working there.

Anyone who thinks Toyota is ethical needs to do more research. The Japanese are notorious for trying to hide their screwups. The only reason their hybrid models aren’t being recalled is because they don’t loose motive power as the straight ICE models. So they are letting those people deal with it if it blows up. They don’t offer crate engines and we’re forcing the dealers rebuild with a short block. I believe they have only recently started using complete engines as the repair jobs were dropping like flies. Not sure what FCA is doing but GM has been providing crate engines for theirs. I haven’t personally been involved with any of this just watch a lot of YouTube mechanics instead of the crap on TV. We recently passed a 21 4xe down to our daughter and other than the battery recall debacle we never had any major issues with it. Finally aren’t most of you here Americans? Do you suck at your job or does this only apply to someone who works in an automotive plant? I believe management decisions made higher up have more to do with these issues.

Well there's definitely a big gap between the rest of the Wranglers and powertrains 2026 release dates, of which you can already order, and them trying to figure out how the hell they're going to fix the 4XE before they release it.

With no release date known as of now, and price tags being big old ????'s, It's any wonder how they are going to get out of this mud pot they have dug themselves into. Let alone if anyone's going to trust the 4XE brand at this point forward.

Yeah you’re spot on. I just hadn’t read yet that they were struggling with release dates. Yet I see folks in Facebook post “it’s my birthday next week - any update on when 2026 4xe becomes available.”

go figure. People just don’t spend the time of day to figure out what they’re buying, even with large purchases like a vehicle. Or maybe they’re too oblivious to know how to ask the right questions.

any way - does anyone know how to or has the actual work email of Tim Kuniskis or Antonio Filosa? I’m trying to work for Stellantis to help them get better.

But the sand is left over from casting the block. Which originates in the US. Which means it's US manufacturing that messed it up. It's not like it's a secret that "American made" hasn't meant jack in terms of quality for at least 30 years.

Or the real villains: the company. Stellantis has laid off, rehired, undercut, and just generally jerked around their employees and suppliers more than their customers. That leads to under qualified, untrained, and disinterested people putting this stuff together. All to save a buck and pad shareholder pockets. The last 3 4xe recalls conveniently excluded 4xe on production line, when Jeep very well knew they were using the very same fire prone batteries, I guess they realize they can't keep pulling a fast one.

And they were knowingly using the same problem batteries to replace batteries that failed.

I've never heard of that in the States. It's interesting that the payments are weekly yet they still use months for the duration.
