Only the 4XE? Are those 2.0Ts built in a different factory/ area/ process, than the non-4xes? Or are the turbos different?

Not a good look. Engine recall and battery recall within the same month.

I was wondering the same thing, but only the 4xe was mentioned.

I would think that it has to do with parts manufactured outside the USA. Found this on the interweb: JEEP engines manufactured: * **2.0L Turbo:** Some say Trenton, Michigan, and Italy. * **3.6L V6:** Built in Dundee and Trenton, Michigan, and Saltillo, Mexico. * **HEMI:** Designed in the US, but built in Mexico. * **EcoDiesel:** Designed and built in Italy.

I see a trend here, but it could just be me. Though in my 60 years I have not seen recalls with regards to ICE vehicles in the U.S. at the numbers we have now. And also spontaneous combusting batteries. The insanity will continue until mfg’s feel more pain. How much pain will it take? Unknown, I believe it depends on board members and investors. Globalists suck.

This is also why I do break-in oil and diff changes at 1,000 miles. I know metallurgy is way better today than the past, but it still helps to do it.

I've seen some weird things in break in oil.

On my Ducati there was, what looked to be bolt threads in the oil filter.

Damn!

That is just downright inexcusable.

Remember, Toyota is doing the same thing with their 3.5 debacle... Somehow, their hybrid engines are NOT included in any of the grenade-ing engine recalls.

If Toyota and Stellantis had a baby, it would have a good engine...

On the window sticker it says country of origin for the engine and transmission. On my 4xe, the engine is from the US.

But Toyota is replacing every affected motor. Jeep would never.

What is crazy is, Toyota has been quiet on the exact cause, but it does look like it is primarily just the Tundra effected and all model years. So it must be the non-hybrid 3.5 engine made in the US that is having the issues.

The hybrid version of the 3.5 is built in a different plant.

The Sequoia, GX, LX, etc engines are made in Japan AFAIK, no issues on those models.

Toyota originally said only the first two model years were effected, but they are still having failures on brand new 2025 Tundras.

Great that they are replacing the engines, but deeply concerning they are having such horrific issues.

The new Tundra and Tacoma have serious quality issues btw.

The Tundra seat plastics btw crack, no fix.

Infotainment crapping out.

Transmission issues.

Overheating while in reverse. (ODD)

The new 3rd gen Tundra is a piece of shit.

I'm happy with my F-150, it is the best truck I've ever owned. The fixed the 10 speed for 2022.5, not that they had a high failure rate, but they fixed the Achilles heel in them.

Looks like the recall has now expanded to include the Lexus
