The new one has a larger displacement, 2.0 L and plug-in hybrid version will give you like 240 horsepower. It has 18-in wheels and still 55 mpg. 50 miles of pure EV.
2.0L motor... that's the same crap my giant ass Jeep has!!!!

Not trying to go back n forth with you. But if yr sick of it you don’t have to read it agagin? People come here for help. And talk with others why get funny and say read this or that? That don’t help much. Isn’t that what these forums are about?
WTF are you talking about? I was explaining that it WASN'T a touchy subject...just talked about a lot. I even mentioned that I asked the same questions years ago.

I also offered help in that a test drive will help him better than a 50/50 split of opinions within the thread. I also shared my experience after test driving the 4cyl.

Now...if you need me to break out the crayons and paper to better explain it to you, then I can do that.

Not touchy - just been beat to death. I was one to ask the same question years ago.

Test drive both.

Or.....walk around town shaking a can of pennies. That will be your exact experience acoustically while driving the 4cyl

No, mine sounds like a vacuum cleaner, not a can of pennies. haha

Every day I'm afraid the engine is going to blow up because of the way it sounds. I'm a worrier though, absolute opposite of my wife. The house could be crumbling with the dog being crushed alive inside and she would look at it with a blank stare on her face and say, "its fine". I do not understand that woman, she lives in a whole different universe.

Don't worry, the new giant 4Runner is only 2.4 😁

My overlandbound username when I had a Subaru Outback and had been waiting 3 years for the 6th gen 4Runner. I love my Jeep too much now, even though it mentally abuses me. That 6th gen is pretty sweet it seems, too expensive though, I'm poor.

I HAVE A NEGATIVE ABOUT THE 2.0!

When driving mountain passes in a blizzard, the thing will down shift, pop to 3k RPM and then fishtail. It's sketchy and my friend is like, "why are you driving so slow?" Bro, you want to die?! He made fun of me because I put it in 4hi.

To mitigate that risk, I left it in 4hi and sport shift mode so I controlled everything myself, a lot safer. That downshift into peak torque on a slick road is crazy the first time you experience it. 💩

6>4. All you need to know.

6 are in Masserratis. All you need to know. Wind it up it sounds just like one, mostly, if I imagine.

The 3.6 really sounds good if you open up the exhaust I think.

Definitely one of the better sounding six cylinders out there.
